Benalla Charcoal Chicken
I stopped going here after they changed hands, as the quality and taste went downhill. I'd had some dry chicken, scary gravy which tasted so foul I still wonder what they put (accidentally spilt?) in it and either over or undercooked chips. It's been some time since then so I thought I'd give them another go as I was having a massive craving for charcoal chicken. The chicken looked and tasted as if it was a supermarket roast chicken but not quite as good. No charcoal flavours. Did not look like a charcoal chicken. Chicken was slimy and the moisture in the bag caused the bag to open at the seams. Now I am sad for my charcoal chicken cravings have not been satisfied.

Calling up doing phone orders. With kids its easier. The past multiple times get told it will be 10 mins wait 20, 25 mins later it is ready. What tops it off is tonight I ordered at 630 got told 10 mins. I walked out at 7:10pm. I let the first times slide but this is ridiculous 5 weeks in a row I won't be ordering more. unless your friends with staff you can walk in order and get your food 5 minutes later. The 2 stars are only because the salads were nice

Had no chicken left only chicken parmigiana and it was small and not tasty. The salad was soggy and pineapple fritters were covered in large bread crumbs.

The staff were friendly and service was quick. The choice pack was full to the brim and could easily be shared between two people however the roast pack was a little lacking (considering the price and comparative quantity in the choice pack). Overall, it was nice.

0/10 for $17.35 I got a small cold Parma cold soggy chips and very average scallop potato’s portion was small food was cold and absolutely rubbish . Called to complain and they barely even said sorry . Definitely not worth the money at wll

Chicken schnitzel was terrible, there was no meat and flat as a pancake. The weirdest schnitzel I’ve ever seen. Impossible to digest!

Chicken dry/over cooked.Egg and lettuce salad half filled with plain lettuce then salad put on top. Won't get my business again. Pay good money to get rubbish. Not cool .

This is a great Charcoal Chicken (the only way to eat) shop with a great selection of tasty salads. Roast chicken meals are good. I haven't had anything bad from here in the 3 years buying there. Keep up the great work and food.

Great selection of salads. Not drenched in dressing and pretty fresh too! Highly recommend their salads should you want a healthier meal.Didnt get to try much else but staff are friendly and food comes out quickly. Will be back for more salad soon!
