Palmex Australia | Bali Hut Roofing

Palmex Australia have just successfully completed reroofing of our Polynesian Faré. It was a difficult and challenging project because of its location away from the road and on very steep terrains. Peter and his friendly team excelled in bringing this project to completion to our total satisfaction. Palmex Rioha synthetic thatch is also an excellent product which gives the authentic South Pacific look to our hut. We can only recommend Palmex Australia for any similar projects. Great product, appalling service. For two and a half months Peter has mucked us around. We first contacted him in early October, it is now the 18th of December and still our small Bali Hut isnt completed (and its only a 3m x 2m!). He passes himself off as a Tradesman, but IS NOT. He has not got a permanent installation crew, and we have been delayed multiple times, and straight out lied to. Its difficult removing emotion when it has been such a complete mess from the start, but to give a fair review I would say; great product, but an extremely unreliable and unprofessional business - and get someone else to install it if you want it done anytime soon.

Palmex replaced the thatch on our Bali Hut a few years ago, and it still looks great. When we decided to install a thatched gate house, they were our natural choice. I had my builder install the hardwood wooden structure, which was a relatively complicated build and a lengthy process due to COVID. Pete from Palmex was proactive in suggesting alternative timber suppliers etc, and I stayed in contact with him providing updates on progress throughout the build. My builder finished the frame on 17th Dec, and to my surprise Pete measured up on 20th and sent me a text on 21st Dec saying they would do the work on Friday 24th- Christmas Eve! He arrived early with Marcello, and by lunchtime we had a roof on our gatehouse. It is watertight, looks fantastic and best of all, doesn't shed thatch into the pool. One very happy customer!
