Woolworths Barkly Square

hi all me and my 3 friends were having a very enjoyable day in brunswick we were all happy, we went into this woolworths too simply buy gum, at the checkout we were met with an employee called Aubrey whom accused us of stealing, i pride myself on being a good person and would never steal, after proving we hadn’t he continued too have attitude. we bought our gum and caused no issues. Aubrey from barkley square woolworths if you are reading this i thought you were cool. turns out i was wrong plz re train this man on morals.

Very small. No self checkouts, resulting in a super long line at checkouts.

This store hasn't changed since the 1980s. It's a wonder they even bothered changing the Safeway signage.

This woolies has pretty much everything you need, the international food section is pretty great, staff are very friendly here. What surprises me is that they don't have any self serve registers at all, one of the few Woolworths I've seen that don't have any.

You'd expect a large retailer to set benchmarks across all their stores. Woolworths, located in Barkly Square, seems to have missed the brief.Locals know this and steer clear at all costs. Compare the weekend foot traffic between the two supermarkets in Barkly Square to make your own conclusions. You'll see people fighting through crowded Coles aisles rather than go to the neighbouring Woolworths.The store is old and hasn't seen a refurb in many years. Why go here when there are so many clean, new supermarkets on offer? Aside Coles, Aldi is nearby and there's a great discount store across Sydney Road.There is no self service. This must be the last store in all of Melbourne without self checkout.It wouldn't be so bad if the staff were keen and efficient. Unfortunately, many of them have no urgency, so getting stuck in a slow-moving line is the norm.This is especially true in the express lane". I pity the fool who ventures into this store around Xmas and other holidays.This Woolworths needs an overhaul and the head office should listen. The coin they're losing to their arch rival is huge."

Sonia is an absolute treasure to this store. Always willing to go the extra mile. Whether it’s helping me with any queries or just my general shopping experience. Who ever manager’s this store give this person a raise

It's obvious this is a placeholder store, only here to keep competition away. This is the first Woolies I've been to in a very, very long time that doesn't have any form of self service - however, the service desk staff are super quick and friendly, so when it's quiet enough that makes up for it!This is also just a generally small store, missing many lines, some important. Did I mention it is in dire need of a renovation? This could be a great Metro format store, if Woolies really want to keep the competition away.

Just moved to this neighbourhood and ordered my first click & collect in this store without checking their reviews online (my bad!) However, we had to stand there and wait for a good 15mins for the employees to only pack our items upon our arrivals… We wanted to grab a few things since we were already there but the lines were so long and no self check out counters were provided, worst outlet I’ve ever been. Apparently there’s another store just down in Albert Street that’s much better and I’ll check that out.
