I turned up for breakfast and it was great. I was told the BrokenBack bar was opened 7 days from 12:00. I’m a local tour guide and air bnb host and like to try all food and atmospheric venues to pass on to guests.I came last week to try burrata at bar but a wedding function. No update on website. Needs to advise people if a wedding is occupying the bar to save a 2 hour trip from Sydney. I turned up today, Thursday to try burrata and surprise surprise… closed.Owners… a heads up…please update website and notify staff when you will not be opened because the accountability falls on them who advised incorrect info; in fact the bar is PERMANENTLY CLOSED til otherwise notified via website. Saves time and petrol. I will not be recommending your permanently closed bar to tour guests or air bnb guests. There are more reliable venues

We had a fabulous lunch on Thursday, our food was amazing we hadthe BBQ prawns, the burrata & tomatoes, the pumpkin and the cauliflower. The 2 of kind shiraz and the lemon curd dessert. Highly recommended.

Beef cheeks with polenta, rosemary salted chips and chicken wings.All in all, pretty good. The beef cheeks needed more salt but the chips saved them.Chips themselves were crunchy, hot and tasty although could maybe have gone even more crunchy.Loved the chicken wings. A good dry rub and really moist, tasty chicken with a decent pineapple salsa.Finished off taking a couple of scoops of their movenpick ice-cream back.Not the cheapest place but not too bad.Stand-out though tonight was the service. We were told when we came in to expect a delay as they were short staffed due to holidays. The food came almost exactly when they said and the service throughout the evening was was warm, friendly, helpful and courteous.

Service was fantastic and servers were super friendly and helpful. Food took a while to come out and was okay.Did find a small hair in our chicken wing dish which was a tad disappointing. Menu states woodfire pizza but it did not taste like woodfire pizza. Food was overall not the highlight. But credit to the servers and beautiful location.

Food is great and isn’t expensive for Hunter Valley. $10 chips portion is enough for 3 people.Great portions and great service as well! Additional points for Christmas opening! :)

Wine tour for a mates 40th included lunch at Brokenback Bar. Coq Au Vin was amazing, pizza was amazing, oysters were fresh and delicious, wine was awesome coctails were awesome. Highly recommended as a venue for anyone for birthday or wedding or just a stop on the way

Absolutely great place to eat and drink. Delicious food, superb service. And very well suited if you like a vegetarian alternative too. Can't understand some of the poor reviews. This is certainly not my experience here.

This place is great! Atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is really good, some Italian classics and some modern twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Pizza is very mediocre, edible but not enjoyable, the base tastes like cheap store bought base. Not nice, for apparent woodfired pizza it was received soggy. Avoid the pizza. The service was good for one person covering the whole bar area. Wouldn't come back.
