I had been to two other vets with my unwell cockatiel over the preceding week before I finally found Joel at Ark. There was no comparison between them, the amount of love that Joel clearly had for the animals he treats and his passion to provide the best care possible is unremarkable. Unfortunately he did end up passing away but I could at least rest easy knowing he got the best fighting chance under Joel's care. My only regret is that we didn't find him sooner. Would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a good vet that genuinely cares about their pets health. All of their other staff was incredible as well, very caring and empathetic

Worst experience with a local vet.I took my dogs to the Ark after moving to Palmerston. My old Pomeranian was having seasonal skin issues that we were not able to keep on top of with malaseb or other medicated washes. His red was red, broken and he had significant hair loss. Our first consultation at the Ark, the Vet made it sound like they don't do cytology on site, and only conducted a tape test on the skin. We had blood taken but otherwise no treatment.I had a call later from the vet nurse to check how my dog was doing, to which I responded the same because he received no treatment. I told the vet nurse I had not received blood test results but I would like to make another booking to get my dog's skin issues sorted, nothing that he smelt yeasty.I had to chase these test results. The vet claimed they had tried to call me but I had no missed calls or messages and the reception staff and vet nurse were able to get hold of me just fine. For our second consultation the vet swabbed the skin and found a mix of fungi and bacteria. We were given antibiotics and steroids and I consented to a second lot of blood tests to check thyroid. I left feeling like the initial consultation was a money grab and my dog's best interest were not a priority.I never received the second blood results but I gave up chasing the clinic because my dog's skin issues had completely cleared up with medication. This was all approximately 18 months ago. I should have gone with my gut and moved clinics but I booked my dog's another appointment for their vaccinations and to have a fast growing lump in my dog investigated. The consultation went fine. The vet performed cytology in house and we agreed to send for pathology, but that I would book in for removal after results came through. The vet verbally quoted me $90 for the cytology referral.I later realised I had been charged $190 for the referral and two weeks later still had not received results. I emailed the clinic to follow up results and query the charge, asking if I had been over charged.I expected the clinic to charge some amount above the referral fees to cover consumables, time, interpretation etc but this was excessive. So I paid almost $250 in total for cytology. The clinic refuses to follow up and provide results. Needless to say we are forced to cut our losses and go elsewhere. The reception staff are very friendly and the vets knowledgeable but the customer service, communication, and care have been appalling. They do not care about your pet, or their best interests. They just want your money.

A really good vets with wonderfull staff who go that extra distance. Good practical advice for my dog because we live in Arnhem land northern Australia in a community where conditions are a little tough. So my dog Daluk had a clean bill of health and great teeth (loves her fresh bones) The vets recommended the 7 vaccinantion for kennels and tropical diseases. Can not recommend these guys enough and and they a good reputation for all the native animals and reptiles and also have a vet on 24/7 for emergency call outs and plenty of parking with disabled parking and entrance. Could be not more helpfull.

Got referred to this vet hospital as my vet was fully booked. Front office staff were very helpful and friendly. The veteran was very informative and helpful. If you are looking for a veterinarian hospital for your fur baby/babies I would highly recommend. Thanks for seeing my baby at the last minute. I will definitely be recommending you.

Brought in a relatively unusual native animal we rescued to get it checked out for injuries. We are carers and wanted to make sure it was injury free so we could then look after it until it’s release. Long story short they called us saying it was healthy and sent to one of their carers. That leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

First time here. Staff are very friendly and bubbly. Almost forgot I was in Darwin. The vet has a nice large waiting area that can accommodate multiple people with pets and keep them all seperate. Will keep coming back for all the regular checkups and needles as they are just great to deal with.

Great service by staff. They were able to squeeze me in last minute for a consult as my usual Vet could not. The vet tech was very friendly and gave appropriate advice on the situation and even when unsure checked with another vet to deliver the best result
