Apple Tree Rest Area
We stopped there for an over night stop and the only complaint I have is the speed of the traffic coming through Drummond st. They fly through there and if you have kids be very careful. I think they should put speed humps in through the rest area. Other than that the area is flat and has toilets there that are very clean. A bit of local wildlife will visit you for a feed.

Needs the playground to be fixed and lawns mowed.Toilets could be cleaner and smell better

Lovely area to take a rest break. The new ablutions block are very modern and clean with easy access for travellers with ambulatory problems. Shops are a short walk away if you want coffee, a beer or fuel.

Road side stop. Looks like it is still damaged from flooding as things are hoarded off. Toilets are clean. Not a huge amount of space for campers and I suspect very noisy at night. Mozzies are a bit fierce but OK if you need a stop and a break.

Loud traffic noise all night on Bruce Highway, (A1). Good camp ground but has a very steep slope, bottom is flat so get in early. Good cleaned daily toilets. Unless you are a deep deep sleeper or wear earplugs or have hearing aid there are better free camp areas in Childers 5min away. Only bonus was coffee/donut van in morning
