Tried the meetpie, cheesepie and ham&cheese pie. Too much butter, very greasy and not much flavour. The meetpie was different than the Aussie one, but different to the Greek one as well. Too much onion in the mix, and again very greasy. The free cake sample instore was good,A bit cheaper then the adjacent shops.

A cake and bakery store that you will truly appreciate. If you are after quality and perfection then this is your store to visit. The finest ingredients are used, you will discover when tasting all their desserts. I travel from a distance and always manage to pop in to say hello to the friendly staff (always greeting with a smile) and indulge. Well done Sweet Filosophy ! A much needed store in the heart of Oakleigh :-)

A wonderfully presented shop with really well presented sweets and pastries.The pastries themselves are fantastic and the coffee is quite good.The only downside in my own experience was the customer service was a little lacking.One of the ladies behind the counter seemed not very interested in serving us even though we were just standing there. Made eye contact a few times and she did not seem interested at all in saying even a hello or giving a smile.If this little issue is sorted (and is very easy to sort) its pretty much one of the best greek pastry shops around.

Been here twice - Black forest cake, almond biscuits were tasty and fresh. Baklavas were too syrupy for my liking. A bit overpriced. In both occasions customer service was poor and think I won't be returning soon.

What a beautiful local bakery! The owner is so sweet and kind, she is passionate about baking and knows a big deal about sweets and cakes. She was extremely helpful to assist us and we went with her recommendations. We got an assortment of mini cakes with flourless orange, Attica, and exotica. The mini cakes were amazing, kind of melts in your mouth!! So delicious! They also bake savoury items like spanakopita and pumpkin pies, and mince pies too! They have a variety of mini cakes and small and big cakes too. We confirmed and the owner informed us that except tiramisu (the recipe has alcohol), none of the cake has alcohol in it, and are vegetarian-friendly. They also have vegan options to choose from. Exceptional customer service and great quality bakes, must try!

For those that have longed for the Greek bakeries you would find in Greece, to finally appear in Melbourne, look no further, Sweet Filosophy is your go to bakery/sweet shop.To say that my husband and I are picky is an understatement. Honestly we just know what a real spanakopita or a real bougatsa or a real zambonotiropita should taste like, so naturally our standards are high. Add to that, the fact that we always compare what we eat in Melbourne to what we eat in Greece, we tend to have high expectations. Well here at sweet filosophy, we are beyond satisfied, very content and always argue whether we can squeeze just one more thing in our stomachs simply for the fear of waiting until we are back there again. Not to mention the bag of goodies that we take home for later. We live 1hr and 15mins away but for food this good, the traveling time is totally worth it. For people that grew up in Greece this place is very nostalgic, it doesn’t just start with the great tasting and exquisitely made food. It starts with the warm smile and friendly welcome as soon as you step foot in the door. THAT is the Greek welcome, it’s personal and for a moment you forget you are even in Oakleigh. This is our go to sweet shop for all sorts of occasions, whether we are visiting friends/family and we need to take something with us, whether we are buying sweets for the house or whether we just want a typical Greek breakfast on the go. The frozen pies/pitas are also amazing and so handy to have in your freezer for a last minute lunch. I am gonna stop writing (because I can go on forever) and you stop reading, get in your car and get yourself there, you won’t be disappointed.

Very tempting desserts. All of the cakes look absolutely amazing! I tried two of the desserts along with the gelato. The banoffee one was fantastic! It was so tasty that even my rabbit wanted to steal a bite (rabbits love bananas). I also tried the ferrero cake which was equally as tasty, especially the ferrero centre! The gelato is also rather nice with good flavours. Overall, a great patisserie and I'm eager to come back for more.
