Toolleen Hotel & Tin Shed

We visited the Toolleen Hotel this weekend and I cannot recommendthem enough. The staff were lovely and the meals were absolutely fabulous and very generous. Cannot recommend their garlic cob loaf enough, it was simply exquisite. Whilst they had quite a few people in there, the meal service was super quick and our meals served together. Will definitely be making the drive out there again soon for another meal.

The tucker here is top notch. I had the tin shed burger and my dining companion had a chicken parma. Very reasonably priced. Very friendly atmosphere, laid back country vibe, plenty to see at the pub as well. Stuck my head inside the door of the tin shed- looks like my kind of place!Large built in brick oven, farming items/garagenalia hanging up on the walls, jukebox, plenty of seating for functions etc.Dined outside on the verandah of the pub and watched the world go by for a couple of hours. Beer and other drinks were ice cold, staff were very helpful and there was ample parking space.Public toilets and electric bbq area over the road for travellers. Worth staying a few days off grid and using this area as a home base. No phone reception but who cares- some people could use a disconnect from their screen time anyway.Large open fire place in the bar to keep it cosy, and a good selection of tap beers. Pool table in the lounge and an extensive local wine list.Shifted away many years ago and am glad I re-visited. Looking forward to coming out and seeing some live music sometime soon!

We had Easter Sunday lunch here. Booking a table is essential as it is a smallish venue and extremely popular with locals.....and out-of-towners like us. The meals were basic but, all prepared in a very timely manner and all good size portions. Staff were friendly and attentive. The pub has a great atmosphere and is decked out with old history and antique memorabilia. Well worth the trip to a out of the way hidden gem.

Fantastic pub! We visited for my Dad's 70th birthday weekend. We chose the Tooleen Hotel because of the kids' playground and we were not disappointed. The kids loved playing on the trampolines and on the jungle gym. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. A great range of beers on tap and local wines are available by the glass or bottle. Was very busy for a Saturday lunch, so bookings are recommended, especially if you are a larger group.

Highly recommend you book. The staff, food and atmosphere were all amazing. Plenty of parking. Air conditioning and cold drinks were perfect on a stinkin’ hot day. Notably - the zero phone reception was a welcomed change of pace.

Nice Rustic looking pub with awesome people. We were 9 of us and everyone enjoyed the place and food.

I popped in for dinner whilst camping at the Road Stop. Jim, the owner ended up sitting beside me at the bar and I enjoyed talking to him and the cheerful staff. It was a busy Saturday night with an event happening in the Shed, but my meal was tasty and served in a timely fashion.Heads up, there is no Telstra service in the area and no wifi available. I believe Optus may work a little...

The The Toolleen Hotel, Tin Shed & Cafe is such a great country pub set on the Northern Hwy. Even though it is a small pub in the middle of nowhere, I highly recommend that you book, especially if you have a group. As it can become very busy, especially on fri/sat and remember that they are closed on mon/tues. It has plenty of parking and the staff/food were all amazing. The food was generous in size and the prices were decent. They do have an outdoor play area for the kids as well. One let down was that the area had zero/little Telstra mobile phone reception in the but on the other hand, it was great to have a meal without being distracted by my phone. Definitely worth your time to stop in and visit.
