Bjelke Petersen Dam Caravan & Recreation Park
BP Dam is a great place for family camping with lots of options to keep the kids entertained like the swimming pool and playground. It has a boat ramp for water sports, fishing, kayaking and lots of space whether you choose a powered site, one with an ensuite (would definitely recommend) or an unpowered site, the family dog can also join you. The facilities are very basic but are cleaned daily, there is a communal camp kitchen if required and you can also hire a cabin or holiday home there if available. Fires are permitted and there is a shop to grab a new lure or an ice cream on a hot day. This is my second time visiting with my family and we will be returning.

Just lovely. The dam is full for the first time in ages. The caravan park did not have many people but was beautiful and well maintained. Nice toilet block. Tennis courts. Little shop. Some lovely wineries in the area. We visited all of them.

Spent 3 weeks here over Xmas and New Years and can’t fault the place. Caretakers are fantastic, cleaners are lovely, the showers have fantastic water pressure and cleaning is always done every day. There is 2 camp kitchens (top one being the main next to the pool) which has fridge, oven, toaster, kettle, bbq the lot. The powered sites alone are actually very decently sized (non concrete areas being a bit bigger). Only thing that would be a down fall is it doesn’t show the sites that are on a hill not a flat so when booking be sure to ask. Sadly we didn’t catch any fish this round but we did however catch a few red claw which was fantastic as apparently haven’t been seen for some time now.. kiosk has fire wood for sale as well as milk and Bread (but can run out depending on demand) but no worry 12 min drive into murgon iga isn’t badly priced as well as a chemist and some other small shops so no need to worry.. family and myself will definitely be back again- fyi if your a golfer murgon golf course is definitely a go 2- Facebook them and can organise golf buggy and clubs (or take your own). Run by an honesty box so if you wish to organise anything contact them first :D but the course itself is very well looked after and the greens are amazing :)

Great facilities -pool ,tennis court, boat ramp, well kept grounds and close to the Dam. Staff were friendly and kiosk had all the basics. Camp kitchen was good with Mwave and bbq plate. Phone reception was on and off so had to walk to camp kitchen to get 1 bar. Amenities block was clean and fairly new with hot showers. Stayed 2 nights on powered site 22. Was second row from dam on far corner with views of the Bush and dam. Started raining on 1st night and didn't stop. Would have stayed longer otherwise.

Stayed 3 nights in an open plan villa overlooking the water. Fire pit was excellent on the cool clear evenings. Very comfortable cabin, awesome heating and very well appointed.

If i could i give them 0 stars. Lovely spot to go fishing. The bloke at the office wasn't very polite doesn't have very good customer service.Toilets don't get cleaned properly at all. All they do is sweep the floor and mop but they don't even do that properly. Empty the bin every now and then. The showers have mold all through them. The laundry is very dirty looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. They have 1 washing machine n 1 dryer. Second washing machine is out of order and has been for weeks.I spoke to a couple that are at the ensuite sites and they where saying that there ensuite hasn't been cleaned the whole time they have been there and they have been there for a month. We ended up leaving early cause we where sick of all the problems. I won't be coming back.

Stayed for 2 nights in a clean & neat lakeside cabin. The staff made us feel very welcome and Marie went the extra distance to ensure our stay was something to remember. The kiosk is well stocked. The other attractions nearby are the wineries. Most are only open on selected days but Moffatdale Ridge opens every day and worth a visit. The bird life is also entertaining.

A really nice and open caravan and camping park on the banks of the JB dam. You can have your own fire burning at night and the stars burn brightly. Nice pool, level slabs on each dedicated site, modern facilities and very clean.
