We had an issue with our 2015 Golf R and they didn’t know what the real issue was, and tried to first charge us for a new headlight then they hadn’t even done all the tests to confirm it was the issue - LAZY. After our instruction, they investigated further (so we thought) and then tried to charge us $15,000 to replace the whole wiring harness. They didn’t actually know where the problem was. We went elsewhere to an independent mechanic and replaced the BCM for just over $2000. The $15,000 repair wouldn’t have fixed the issue.Absolutely shocking that they were willing to charge us that much money, not to mention how that would affect someone’s life. I don’t know what kind of business they’re running and it is so disappointing as we were very loyal to them. We’ve lost faith completely and are now weary of VW Service in general…

Great team and service. Was met at the driveway and my problem was quickly diagnosed and quoted. Problem repaired within the day. All around great experience.

I had brought my car in on Friday due to a recall for my golf. Excited to receive my car back, I picked my car up as soon as I could after work. On my way home from the dealership, the car was ironically stuck in my limp mode (which is was recalled for to prevent) and I could not move up the road which was barely inclined. It was lucky that my partner was quick with his thinking and pulled over immediately however we were stuck in the middle of a lane.We called the dealership immediately and spoke to Frank who advised us on the car. We mentioned we needed a hire car for the weekend while they resolved the issue they created in our car. After a conversation, he asked us to get a tow to move the car to the dealership through our own insurance. It should not have been our responsibility to organise a tow so he then organised a tow to come through to move the car over. The tow had come and we were not informed on any next steps. It seemed that there was no intention to provide us a hire car and we were left stranded in Annandale. So again, we called to ask for next steps in which he said 'might as well get in with the towie and meet us at the dealership'.I understand that at this point it was past closing hours and that the workers wanted to go home. HOWEVER, there is no excuse for the appalling service I received. The manager Carlo, came and spoke with us about a hire car and informed us that there are no cars for us to take over the weekend. We said that this is not possible as we required a car and if there had been no issue with our own car we would not be having this conversation. Carlo then proceeded to ask us where we were taking the car which was frankly incredibly rude as he had no business in asking. He mentioned after that the car is for local driving only, clearly as he wanted to keep the mileage on this new car low. This is not our problem. I am flabberghasted by the audacity Carlo had to not only ask us what our plans were but also told us to cancel our plans.Had my partner not been a skilled driver and pulled over as quickly as he did, we may have been in an accident. I do not believe that Carlo understood the gravity of the situation. We could have sued for negligence because Volkswagen returned a car to us that was no longer functioning. To add to this, I do not understand how Carlo received the manager position that he has with his awful and rude manners. A manager should be the person that a team looks up to and sets an example on how to provide customer service. It is evident that he is incompetent in his role as neither did he OR Frank apologise even once for the inconvenience they caused us.We have had a Mazda previously who had failed as well in a recall service HOWEVER their customer service was incredible. Not only did they drive a car directly to us and swap our cars immediately so we had one to hire, they also returned to the car to us at our home address when resolved and picked up their own hire car. They gave us honest updates and even a voucher for their inconvenience. They showed us what customer service was, not what I had experienced on Friday.I truly believe I am a very fair person. I understand that mistakes happen and I am OK with that no matter how frustrating it may be. I am also OK with rude manners as long as they have the courage to apologise. I have worked in retail for so many years, and even worked at the largest company Apple that thrives on their customer service. Seeing a comparison between the services I received from Mazda and Volkswagen, I can see for myself that customer service really makes or breaks your company. And sadly for Volkswagen, it has broken my relationship with them.I am truly so disappointed and it is one of the worst services I have ever received. I don't appreciate being spoken to in a condescending and rude manner and will look forward to moving on with another car manufacturer for my next car.

I have serviced my car there in previously although there phone system is pathetic. I have attempted to contact them numerous times to book my car in although it keeps ringing out and goes back to sales reception who can not help. I will not be servicing my car with them again and is not a one off situation. Last time I went to book in my car I had the same issue. Don't bother buying a Volkswagen or servicing with these guys

Excellent service team. I was met at the driveway, the team knew what my vehicle concerns was booked in for, and made me feel confident they had it under control. As promised, I received a call to explain what required fixing, and the car was ready to collect at the agreed time. The car was even washed! The team are polite, extremely helpful, and are not in a rush to get you out of the door even if you have a lot of questions. Excellent experience compared to other dealerships, definitely recommend servicing you VW here. Also, convenient location with a bus stop out the front.

I've had an issue with my 2 year old VW Golf for 2 years and I was so happy that VW Leichardt finally resolved it. The service that I received was impeccable and I won't hesitate to return there. The same can't be said of VW Five Dock, who were seriously arrogant in their handling of my issues in the 2 years prior to the point where they blamed me for leaving my lights on in my car when the real problems were a dead battery cell and a fuel pump monitor fault.

Bought a golf GTI in 2017 and it’s been good, until July 2022. Started to have coolant alert popping up constantly. Have sent my car for service at VW leichhardt service for more than 5 times now, within like 2 months, pretty much every 2 weeks. Multiple diagnosis have been done, still not resolving the issue. Initially was told due to some air which caused the sensor to trigger, then radiator got replaced for over $1000, then got told air issue will be there for quite a while, I just need top off some water when the coolant alert pops up. Did the top off myself, issue still there. And started from 25/09, noticing some dripping under the car, pink color, like coolant, called up them on 26/09 and was told the guy who’s been looking after the issue is on holiday for 2 weeks. Was told the service manager would call me back on that day and it didn’t happen. Asked if tow in service can be provided or organized as I don’t feel safe to drive it to the service centre now, was told I need to organize a tow in myself. Such a joke, same issue since mid July, sent my car over 5 times within 2 months, still not fixed. I now seriously doubt if the radiator should be replaced at all…

Even though I didn’t buy my Volkswagen at this dealership, Sema and the service team were great.
