The Perfect Barbershop Melbourne

I am so happy this place was open. I stopped by soon after I arrived in Melbourne because I loved the sign on their door. It caught my eye as I was walking by. When I entered, Jenny was very nice answering my questions about the wait time, cost, making appointments. She encouraged me to make an appt by phone or online if I wanted priority when I arrived. At that point, I was clear I was going to do the cut but unsure exactly when. I was planning to be in Melbourne for nearly a month so I had time. Fast forward to Australia Day (25 January). I'm roaming around looking for food nearby when I decide to give them a call to see if they are open or make an appt. Jenny answered and said I can come in and there wasn't really a long wait. I arrived 20 minutes later and sat right down. Abs helped me with my heavy backpack placing it on the counter, as opposed to the floor where it would collect the cut hair. I appreciated that. Abs was very attentive to my requests, asked clarifying questions before he started. He wasn't shy about asking follow-up questions before taking action to make sure we were on the same page. I genuinely appreciated that bc you can't undo too much hair getting cut. I needed the sides of my hair faded and a line. I didn't want the bleached tips on the top touched. Abs honored my wishes and was very efficient. 20 minutes later, I was walking out the front door but of course, ended up engaging in further conversation because he and Jenny were friendly and, well, engaging. I highly highly recommend this place. The price was very reasonable and I paid cash. I'll be back whenever I return to Melbourne.

Finding a barber for African hair in Melbourne is hard enough. Moreso one that does an amazing job. Had a few unpleasant experiences prior and then Abs was recommended. Not looked back since. No one else will touch my head.

I have been getting my haircut here for the past 3 years.Abs is a dedicated, humorous barber with a great attention to detail and an expert in the craft who asks what you really want and that’s exactly what you receive or even better when your a first timer he will suggest what hairstyle will suit you and trust me when I say this that’s how you will end up being a frequent goer. On top of that if you got any questions on hair maintenance tips don’t hesitate to ask. They cut all sorts of hair, Caucasian, Asian, African, you name it. A great and vibrant environment and if you’re lucky they also offer a complimentary drink with your haircut.The music they play is hip and new age but they can employ old school barbering tricks to satisfy any mature soul out there. I can’t recommend it enough. Thank me later!

The barber and co-owner Abs provided me with fantastic service, great conversation and good style advice!I was not sure what I wanted when I made a booking but Abs was enthusiastic and helped me choose a style, and with my approval a really cool stencil cut too!I had a wonderful experience and chatted to both owners, and will definitely be going back!The price is very good as well!
