I had a great visit to this office on Friday 30/09/22. I was attended to by C.S.O. NAWAR. Extremely Professional, Efficient, Informed and Attentive. Another WONDERFUL PERSON doing an AMAZING JOB for the vulnerable and sometimes misunderstood. Anyway you've had the rest now ask for the best.NAWAR SHADOOD.

This office has been a pleasure so far to work with...... ALTHOUGH the level of professionalism shown by the majority of caseworkers that I have personally dealt with is questionable. OVERALL it comes down to a failed judicial system, caseworkers that lack a sense of street smart and a study.program that could do with a revamp to gain greater qualifications.

They Lost my transfer application which had been in for 6 years and no help to me. And no response to water damage sustained from a leak above 4 years ago .. now this place is practically unlivable and a risk to my health and well being even with medical certificates They don't realise or care the risk it puts someone with mental health issue at.R Mannering. good luck to everyone going here, truly it is kind of a miserable place to be. they'll look for any reason not to help you- i was trying to work things out and made a million calls over 8 hours straight in which they were basically no help and just kept putting completely arbitrary roadblocks when I just wanted a place to sleep that night. the first time i went i had a lady who was very helpful and understanding- the second time i had 2 different guys who refused to do anything until i had applied for social housing and got a pre approved bond loan- neither of which i needed. i fully acknowledge that it's also the system that we are all working against, but you know, a little bit of help or even saying sorry it's taken 8 hours would've been great. make sure you have absolutely rock solid paperwork before meeting with them or they will turn you away again and again and waste everyone's time. i watched them nearly completely throw out a man's application who has been sleeping on the street for years and waiting for years for housing, all because he missed 1 phone call. tl;dr very dehumanising experience, unfortunately:(

Worst office I’ve ever seen. They’re slow, they’re rude and there’s a good chance they’ll lose or screw up your paperwork.Check everything twice and be prepared to wait years for a response.

This office of dcj or is it facs. They like confusing people about which government department their dealing with. They can't even communicate their correct address. Their located around the corner in Chalmers St. Their trying to dig up some dirt on me by snooping around into my Victorian background. Like hello l've relocated to NSW. My Victorian history should be none of their business when applying for 3 days temporary accommodation. So far it's taken them 2 days to get this information for processing my temp accommodation. Referred on to the facs offshoot link to home 24 hr phone service who insist on sending me out to Rooty Hills for 2 nights accommodation when l'm calling from Surry Hills and have just within a week been with a specialist accommodation crisis hostel in Surry Hills who had a t/a bed vacancy when l called link to home who would have had me back and what about all the cheap budget hotels within easier reach from Surry Hills. Not happy with Un empathetic and incompetent team leaders and managers not necessarily workers at the coalface.Four months down the track dcj/facs or as most people know them as the housing commission department have finally redeemed themselves by providing priority housing in a studio apartment for myself. I think the offer over the phone came from either Ashfield or Burwood Office. So thank you to the staff who processed my application at their housing contact centre.

Today I am calling Strawberry Hills office again and the call dropped out. Third time I have called, no one gets back to me, three weeks later.

The team member that served me. I was helped after trying to get through via phone yesterday to no avail. I was looked after by a very kind and helpful lady I can't remember her name. I'm grateful for her assistance as I've got multiple mental heath issues. Thank you for all your help.
