K-TEC Autohaus

I wanted to post something honest, as it is hard to find a garage in Perth that has genuine ‘After care’. I dropped my AMG CLA45 for the installation of a GCG5452R and a re-tune, the vehicle had a previous tune with a downpipe and intake already installed. I met with Peter Thompson at K-Tec when I dropped my car off, he was nothing but a gentleman.The guys at K-Tec installed the turbo, they adjusted turbo oil and coolant lines so they were neat within the engine bay, and the engine bay itself was very clean after the installation. They also adjusted my air intake box by fabricating extra brackets for it as the original metal housing had become flimsy. K-Tec went out of the way to adjust something that was not their issue, because they cared what the end result looked like.When it came time for the dyno run, I got a message from Peter asking if I wanted to watch, I was shocked when I was asked to be honest. On the initial dyno runs, the vehicle did not pull the intended power figures, there was a few error codes, the transmission seemed to be playing up, and I was left scratching my head. Peter could see my disappointment but did not want me leaving unsatisfied.Unfortunately, I had to leave with the vehicle as I needed it over Christmas, but Peter made sure the vehicle was bought back to the shop. After Christmas, I made sure Mercedes themselves had applied the latest TCU update (Transmission Control Unit Software). Mercedes adjusted my clutch uptake from standstill and confirmed the latest TCU software was applied. I then took the vehicle back to K-Tec, Peter checked for any error codes, reset my transmission, ran transmission adaptation software, completed additional dyno runs, and adjusted the tune with assistance from Allen from International Autohaus (EvoTech).I would also like to mention Allen from IAH has also been extremely informative over the process. I have messaged both Allen and Peter allot, probably to border line ‘annoyance’, and they always made an effort to respond.With the final adjustments made, the vehicle made 300 WKW (400 WHP), the car is still smooth to drive but hitting the accelerator puts a massive smile on my face. Peter, and all the crew at K-Tec Autohaus are respectful enthusiast’s who care about the work they are completing, and I can say the same about Allen from IAH.If you are in Perth, WA, looking for a solid service centre, a solid tune for a European vehicle, and genuine car enthusiasts, I would highly recommend K-Tec Autohaus! After-care is extremely important, if you have no after-care or people skills, it only seems like you never cared to begin with, and leaves people with a sour experience. These guys are the real deal!
