JB Hi-Fi City - Strand Arcade Pitt St Mall

After researching online we did a quick in and out to purchase some keyboards. Had to wait a bit for a staff member but then it was just after boxing day. Once served they found the item fast and we paid and out of there. Quick and hassle free.

Located in the lower ground of The Strand Arcade, it is not the most comfortable place to visit. It's not a big store but the location is beautiful. Hence, there isn't a vast array of products. Like all retail, currently there are staff shortages. As long as you're not in a hurry, I would take a stroll through the store. Staff are professional, friendly, and helpful. The city is a shadow of its former self.

We got in reasonably early but staff still knew we were here as some greeted us. That didn’t seem to stop them chatting to each other and using a lot of expletives as they loudly chatted. I made a choice (granted the box was an empty one but there were many empty ones of the same product on the shelf) and took it to the counter. The person on the check out needed to call one of the previously mentioned persons, who then needed to walk away and then needed to find out that the product was out of stock everywhere in the city stores….after some cricket chirping, I said I would order it online. I didn’t say I would certainly not do it from JB. If we are relying on checking product availability and checking locations of products before we purchase, then why do they even bother having stores? Having items on shelves that are out of stock is not the way to do things. Lazy.

I bought an electric shaver, but it didn’t work well. When I bought it, I asked if it didn’t work, and I would refund it. When it didn’t work, the salesperson told me that it wouldn’t be refunded after I used it. I mean, I can’t buy a good one. Buying a Philips three-blade for 225 Australian dollars is obviously a strong buy and sell. Don’t buy their products from any merchant.

Thanks to Morris who promised to call me when thr new Xbox came in even though I waited a few months he was true to his word followed up and we got it for my son just in time for a special occasion. Great customer service and ethic thank you Morris!!!!

Jonah’s the best here- look for him when you need assistance! He’s got mean customer service skills- explains products well and finds out if they have a stock of items that are not on the shelves anymore! Legend.
