Went in interested in buying 2 Bromptons. The manager seemed disinterested in making $6,000 as she was unfriendly and had an arrogant dismissive attitude to any questions we asked. We ended buying interstate. EDIT: based on response they are clearly getting confused with another disgruntled potential customer. Whoever they were, it wasn’t us. We never mentioned coming back for a test ride as we had already had one!

The staff at Brompton Junction Melbourne are friendly and helpful. You can also tell they are passionate and knowledgeable, which helped make my purchase decision straightforward and confident. If you're looking from a Brompton, I can't recommend BJM enough. Thanks for the assistance and looking forward to being back in the near future.

Bought my Brompton 1yr, and 6months ago. Pleasant experience with the purchase, and after sales support. I also joined the Maintenance Sessions" and I was able to do the basic stuff to prepare my Brompton before my 50km ride at Around the Bay. Would definitely go to this store again for future Brompton needs."

Took the Brompton in to fix a minor gearing issue, Dayna spent 13 seconds looking at it, told me I HAD to get $1300 worth of repairs and that refused to fix anything including my gearing issue unless I agreed to pay $1300. Total extortion due to their monopoly.I took the bike to Northside Cycles who said there was nothing wrong with it, and charged me $60. (I already knew there was nothing wrong with it as I'd had the bike checked out by Ray's in Brunswick)I would caution anyone against buying a Brompton in Melbourne due to this shop's monopoly on servicing and repairs.Edit: Northside Cycle's bike mechanic used to work at Brompton Junction so he's just as much an expert in Bromptons as you are. I asked them specifically to look for anything that might be a safety issue.In any case, if you wish to insist on fixing brakes for safety reasons that's fine (although they do work in any case), but you are not within your rights to demand $1300 in payment to fix a bunch of stuff that clearly isn't an immediate problem.And even if you were correct about every single thing, it's hardly going to make the bike safer if you refuse to fix anything at all and I keep riding it. You should rethink your all or nothing approach as it doesn't achieve the best outcome either for safety or for your business.Note: I showed the itemised Brompton Junction quote to Northside mechanic, he called it ridiculous""

Poor customer service.Visited the shop on a quiet weekday afternoon when it wasn’t too busy. The sales floor worker seemed a little impatient when assisting me with my potential purchase and seemed more interested in getting back to faffing about with her non-customer facing duties (eg unpacking a bike and rearranging stuff in the store).Some of the other reviews indicate a strong positive experience so i’m a little surprised by this.I’m sure future reviews will tell you whether this is a one-off outlier or an indicator of a shop sliding on a downward trend.
