Our favourite place to dine in Melbourne!Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and the friendliest staff.Everything Ruby cooks is delicious and so beautifully presented.Too many favourites on the menu and for dessert you can’t go past the tiramisu .We recently went on a Sunday for lunch too and had the best Sunday roast 10/10 (being from Ireland that’s a pretty big statement)Highly recommend Freda’s ❤️

The moment we stepped in the door we were greeted with open arms!If you haven’t been to Freda’s yet, you need to dine here, you will not be disappointed. We had Christmas lunch at Freda’s and will 100% be back next year. Food was outstanding and cooked to perfection. Service…amazing, what a team. A big thank you to Ruby and her team for making our Christmas Day!

Dined for dinner. We shared the three cheese arancini for entree, had the lamb rump for main with the potatoes & salad as sides & the rhubarb & raspberry crumble cake for dessert. I also had a few margaritas. All the food was well presented & delicious. Service very friendly & welcoming. I have been enjoying Ruby's food since the early days when she had Ruby's table. Ruby is the most talented chef & I love her food & so excited she now has a restaurant I can visit regularly & continue to enjoy her food. Highly recommend.

Cute place with a strong menu. Everything was cooked perfectly. We had steak, mussels, gnocci and a few other things. Service was very attentive - the staff were very warm and friendly. We took our friends out to celebrate their engagment and they gave us dessert on the house. It’s all the little things done well that matter. Thanks Freda’s Bistro. Can’t wait to come and try the full dinner menu.

The salad and focaccia are the best ones I have ever had in Melbourne. The highlight is the balance of the different flavours inside each dish - subtle and spot-on. Definitely will try lunch and dinner next time.

If you’re in need of a beautiful piece of cake , great coffee and good banter then don’t go past Freda’s. The pineapple upside down cake was fantastic, as was the carrot cake. All are baked fresh in the premises. They serve a fantastic long black and the Earl Grey Tea was perfect. Will be heading back for dinner. Nothing fancy just a very well run business with excellent food and service, well worth a visit.

Such an incredible dining experience!!The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Highly recommend thrice-cooked potatoes, beef tartare, wagyu rump, pressed lamb shoulder and the crème brûlée for dessert.Thank you so much to Ruby and Graham for having us.We can’t wait to be back!

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was not only unbelievably delicious but the service was the best I’ve ever had. The chef even ensured to check with every table that they were enjoying the food. Highly recommend.

Cute restaurant in the hub of Fitzroy. Simply decorated & felt very comfortable to dine in. Service was lovely and friendly and food came out quickly.We shared a few plates between the 2 of us. To start we each had the single serves of toast. I got the marinated sardine and my friend the eggplant one. The sardine was pickled to the right level of tang and went really well with the toast which was crisp on the outside and soft & pillowy on the inside. Delicious!The calamari was fresh and cooked to the perfect texture and was a good amount for an entree. It was a nice light dish and the celery leaves really brought out the taste of the calamari.For main we had the cavatelli pasta which was again cooked perfectly. The sauce was rich but not overpowering and had a great dusting of Parmesan on top. We got sides of broccolini which has a generous topping of flaked almonds which provided a nice texture to the dish and the corn which was served with a delicious sour cream type sauce. Yummy combo.Lovely place to catch up with friends, enjoy delicious food and have a few cocktails & wines of which there was plenty to choose from.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience stumbled on Freda’s bistro by accident. The food was divine. The owner and the waiters were very welcoming made us feel at home.Certainly would this recommend this restaurant… the Royals
