Woodwork for Women

Just do it! You won't regret it. The detail that Patt covers makes woodwork so intriguing. We all dropped into flow working on our projects.It also just felt safe and comfortable. Our questions seemed to be genuinely welcomed and encouraged.Towards the end I forgot to pre-drill and broke what felt like a lot of intricate work. When Patt taught me how to fix it I got to learn so much more. Patt's approach made me really grateful for the mistake. That feels like the definition of a good teacher.

I did the two day woodwork for women course and it was exactly what I’ve been dreaming about doing for years. I have watched multiple YouTube/Instagram DIYs but I really wanted to learn from someone in person. I’m so glad I found the course: on top of the personalised feedback and guidance it was really beneficial to be able to learn how to use multiple tools (which I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own without a big upfront investment), meet other like-minded women, and learn not only the proper techniques (which you can’t guarantee with Instagram/YouTube) but also the why behind it and the correct body positioning. Pat is an incredible teacher and provides background which makes it all make sense and also means that retaining the information is easier. It was also great having TJ who provided extra assistance and helped enhance the warm and encouraging environment to learn in. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough - it is worth traveling for!

We travelled from interstate to do a 3 day joinery course with Patt & Liz. It was worth every minute! Booking was easy and smooth, with all the details we would need, not just for the workshop, but to visit the area for the weekend, fantastic location, close to Byron Bay, wish we’d stayed longer! We were warmly welcomed and quickly felt at ease. Patt is a masterful teacher, engaging, warm, with a lifetime of craftswomanship to generously share. We quickly bonded as a group and nothing was too much trouble. The pace and detail were perfect, incredibly well run, organised and enjoyable. Patt teaches more than just woodworking, but how to find joy and success as a woodworker, suitable for absolute beginners, but even with 4 years of woodworking experience, I learned plenty. Wonderful safe & friendly environment to learn in. It was grounding, empowering and I left with a real sense of achievement and confidence to go forward in my own woodworking projects. Thanks Patt & Liz! We’ll be back.

Patt Gregory is not only wildly passionate about all things woodworking but she is equally enthusiastic about teaching it to others. This is a rare and magical combination. I had such a wonderful time. Patt's teaching style is incredibly clear, concise and detailed. This allows a depth of understanding to be conveyed, that is available anyone of any skill level. I learnt and retained so much of what I was taught. I walked away from a delightful 3 day workshop with the confidence and skills I needed to pursue my new found love of carpentry. I highly recommend this course for anyone! Especially those who want to learn the basics of how to build something, to use tools with more confidence and really just to learn more about the fascinating world of timber.

I was fortunate enough to partake in an intensive, one on one training program with Patt focusing on hand tools. Patt was so thorough in her explanations of each tool, and patient with any questions I had, making sure I completely understood the techniques and processes involved in creating strong joints. I already have extensive woodworking knowledge, mostly using power tools, but during the time with Patt I was able to push my knowledge and skills practice into a new area. Thank you Patt. It was so amazing to work alongside you in your workshop and push my skills development under your tuition. Highly recommend!

My 2 day woodworking workshop with Patt has been a catalyst for a new sort of personal creative expression. Skills introduced to me at this workshop have laid a foundation of opportunity that I wish were available to me as a woman earlier. Patt was patient, her knowledge of all aspects of woodworking was really inspirational and empowering. Loved it and can't wait to collab with Patt for projects and further learning. Epic!!

Patt’s woodworking course for women was a fantastic experience! I enjoyed every moment and have developed many new skills and tool confidence as a result of doing this course. Patt’s knowledge is amazing and she imparted information and insider know how that you would not find in a text book. Her experience and skills were second to none and always delivered with a smile. Patt’s teaching style is very warm and encouraging and we had lots of laughs as well. I would thoroughly recommend Pat’s course to anyone interested in working with wood and using tools :-)

Patt is such a patient and kind tutor who is extremely well-versed, a real expert in her field! Her knowledge is really second-to-none, combined with an aptitude for teaching it is quite a rare combination! Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, got a lot out of it and would do it again.
