Have been walking in the Boardwalk for 30 Years...Good place to switch off...Thanx to all the Volunteers....Council must make sure that it does not become a Bicycle Track and Walkers have the freedom of enjoying their walk in peace..

Beautiful place for a stroll or a run. The Nature Reserve is quite big. There's 2 circuits that form one larger circuit that circles the whole Reserve. The track is a mix of footpath, boardwalk, and easy trail. The northern circuit is 2.3km around and is not wheelchair friendly with some stairs. The southern circuit is 1.3km with no steps.

A beautiful historical cemetery, gardens and of course the fruit bats! Definitely an iconic location for tourists to visit during their stay at Port Macquarie.

Amazing place considering it’s so close to Gordon Street and residential streets. It’s just so natural and you feel like you’re no where near town when in reality just metres away. If you start the full walk track from the cemetery end you finish up on Gordon St where you cross the road for the track to Westport.

Some beautiful scenery so close to the town centre. Level walkways, but unfortunately they have deteriorated to the extent that two are closed for repair.A warning, avoid areas occupied by flying fox colonies; you will know when you are close!

Great walking track, boardwalks, paths to exercise, look for birds and koalas. Shady, flat easy walk

Kooloonbung creek is right in the heart of Port Macquarie. Here you can access bird watch hides and platforms along the board walks, to view the many different types of the abundant bird life, which some migrate here annually. Such as the Pied Oyster Catcher. The board walk meanders through the mangroves, making its way through some tall river gums, leading you across a floating pontoon bridge, at this point you make your way back towards the historical cemetery across wet mash along the board walk. From here it turns into mostly Paper Barks and She Oak. Making your way along the board walk you will catch a glimpse of an Eastern Water Dragon as he scurries off to hide, some will just lay there basking in the sun as you pass them by. This is a scenic walk with some moderate terrain, an hour to do the full circuit at a slow walking pace.

Would be ok, if the lizard was facing the road so you could see

An interesting park built along a creek, with board walks and pathways.

Wonderful experience, a part of Port Macquarie's history if you have a knowledgeable accomplice. My very young son spotted something on a walk once and my father identified it as post dating back to early settlement.
