Buyer beware ! I wish to alert other consumers of Innerbath non transparent, unclear and misleading website information regarding shower base acrylic mould insert.Beware ! You may not be getting what you paid for.I received an Quotation and email reply in response to a product enquiry for a shower base insert (11 January 2023) from the Managing Director of Innerbath stating, ““Our price includes the supply and installation of a high grade 6mm sanitary ABS acrylic insert.”I was also verbally assured by Melbourne branch Service Manager that the insert mould was manufactured from a 6mm acrylic sheet. As I was assured and satisfied that I was supposedly getting a firm and stable 6mm thick acrylic insert I accepted Innerbath Quotation. $1710.00However, on the day of installation (31 January 2023) and after installers disconnected the shower screen and making ready to install the insert I noticed that the insert was not 6mm but rather 3mm thick. The Installer could not explain why I received 3mm instead of 6mm thick insert and that it should have been 6mm thick. To my surprise the Installer showed me the previous morning install job he did and the acrylic mould insert off-cut piece( shower base size: 865mmx865mm) was 5-6mm thick.Another potential problem brought to my attention by the Installer was that the insert I was getting was larger in size than the existing shower base and that there would be a 20mm cavity between the existing base wall and new insert wall. I was told that the cavity does not get totally filled in. He was insinuating that there would be inadequate support for the insert 3mm flexible wall. Installers explanation and my understanding was if they were to fill all the cavity they would have to use too much costly silicone. With justified disappointment I contacted the Melbourne branch service manager whom provided an excuse with technical explanation of the process of manufacturing an insert. My understanding now is that a 6mm acrylic sheet goes through a process of being moulded and stretched to suit various size shower bases (my shower base size : 900mmx900mm) the process had caused a normal stretching and apparently thinning down to 3mm for my size shower base.I strongly suggested to Innerbath management to make their website more transparent about their product. And that if the above mentioned Information is true and correct and that I had that information available to me at the beginning or if I had of known there was going to be any thinning of the acrylic from 6mm to 3mm I would have rejected the product and not accept the quotation. As a consumer I feel I have been misled, lied to and disadvantaged beginning with the Managing Director of Innerbath as I was assured by him that the insert would be 6mm thick as the initial product enquiry reply email said.As I wasn’t willing to pay $1710.00 for a 3mm thick flimsy acrylic insert and Innerbath unwilling to replace it with a 6mm insert or compensate for the wrong product, the installation was cancelled. Management was apologetic but not willing to accept my reasoning, take any responsibility or do anything more about the matter. The installers reinstalled the existing shower screen and left the property.I have been totally disadvantaged as:1. I was lied to which led me to making the wrong choice of Repairer.2. I was not able to make an informed decision due to not been given accurate and relevant product knowledge information.3. I have had to wait weeks for Innerbath insert Install and to find during that long wait the shower basin crack had increased in length and severity and now I am up for additional cost to repair.4. If I had all the relevant acrylic mould insert information at the start I would have been able to make a proper informed decision and gone for another repairer weeks ago to repair the initial minor basin crack at less cost. What a big inconvenience and stuff up by Innerbath.I do not recommend.

Our shower base had a crack which we noticed was getting worse and we wanted to fix it rather than do a whole bathroom reno. After a lot of frustrating Yellow Pages moments, a few tradies recommended Inner Bath. The job was started on time, finished well ahead of time and looks awesome. Definitely recommend Inner Bath Melbourne. In addition to this, Simon was one of the few tradies who actually came out to have a look at our problem!

My shower floor cracked and my builder arranged innerbath to complete repair works. Simon came to my house and notified me that the shower base would be cut out around the crack and a metal plate put in, then a replacement base would fit over top. What I wasn't told was the material to be used. One single young man came to carry out works. When I first used the shower after works were done it was not flush with the base underneath, there were multiple cavities which sunk under foot and felt like cheap plastic which pushed up air in the drain when stood on causing flooding in the tray unless I placed my weight on specific spots. It sounded like a old plastic bucket being filled up with water when using the shower and multiple cracking and crunching sounds also occured when I shifted my weight. Simon did offer to come out and inspect but I had my builder just rip it out and replace the whole base. When he did I saw the metal plate wasn't there so steps were skipped. I would not recommend innerbath, it was expensive and felt cheap and nasty and the works weren't even completed as described.
