Karl is a talented carpenter and a great person to work with. He's always very professional and was happy to problem solve with us when needed. He was always prompt with his timings, worked non- stop all day, kept our home tidy and ensured that our mezzanine was built on time, within budget and to a high degree of quality. I can’t speak highly enough of Karl. Karl is an excellent builder and an all around great guy. He has an eye for design and finishes all his work with a meticulous attention to detail.We had Karl help us with a bunch of jobs around our home. This included replacing our dormer window which had rotten through, mending and rehanging 6 French doors that were in various degrees of disrepair and a bunch of odd jobs in and around the house. Every piece of work was delivered to the highest quality, Karl consulted with us on each aspect prior to undertaking, completed the work on time and was always punctual and courteous when arranging for times to arrive and when in our home.The dormer was a particularly tricky job as it sits on the 3rd floor on a very sharp angled roof. Karl worked through high temperatures to get the job done and finished it to an extremely high quality. He did an equally excellent job on our French doors, cutting out and replacing rotten wood, replacing the beading, reworking the locks, and shaving and rehanging each door so that it opens smoothly. It’s like having 6 new doors where as previously some of these doors could barely open. Karl also saved us thousands in having to replace the doors and we’ve been able to keep these beautiful pieces as a feature of our home.Thank you very much for all of your work Karl. We really appreciate the time you took to make sure everything was perfect.Highly recommended.

We had issues caused by water damage that needed repair and were fortunate enough to come across Karl.He came out on a Saturday morning, on time, met with us, assessed the job and quoted.We reviewed his quote, accepted and engaged with Karl.He was very up front at every step of the way and did his utmost to keep us informed. There were some variations in the scope of the work and he was very clear about the changes and we always felt that we were informed and in control at all times.When his part of the project was nearing the end he arranged for all the other trades to come in and do their part, and we were very happy with his assistance.He was professional, reliable, up front, humorous, and we felt that he treated us as if he was working on his own home.We would have no hesitation in using Karl again and would recommend his services to anyone that is looking for a reliable builder that can bring in a project on time and on budget.

I can’t speak highly enough of Karl and the quality of work he produces. Our project was a complete renovation and Karl finished it to an extremely high standard, to budget and well within the time frame given. Karl takes any issues personally and worked extremely hard to make sure that we were satisfied with the solutions proposed. He is an excellent communicator and we always felt very well-informed about the progress of our job. He takes his contractual commitments seriously and documents everything so we were always certain exactly what we were paying for.Initially we had thought of employing separate contractors and managing the project ourselves, but after hearing various nightmare stories we are so glad we didn’t do this. Karl is in fact an excellent project manager. When he used subcontractors, they were always very carefully chosen, professional and courteous. Additionally, Karl watches his subcontractors like a hawk to make sure the job is done to his high standards and that nothing is damaged.Karl himself is a very skilled carpenter and we had various smaller carpentry jobs that required creative solutions. He was able to complete all of these in an innovative and surprisingly quick manner.It’s testament to the quality Karl’s work that after five months of full-time demolition and construction, there were only two or three very minor issues that needed attending to and Karl fixed these up immediately. This is in stark contrast to many building stories I’ve heard, where homeowners have faced months of fiddly tasks to properly finish the job after the builders have left. Karl took protecting the completed areas of the house very seriously (for example, he never wore his shoes on the new floor) and left the house extremely clean.Finally, it may not be the most important thing in a builder but I can honestly say that Karl is a lovely person. It was always a pleasure to talk to him and despite my own ineptitude at handyman tasks, I never felt patronised by him (unlike many tradespeople I’ve dealt with in the past). He always took care to explain things in terms that I could understand.I have no hesitation in recommending Karl for any building job, big or small. He could well be the best builder in Sydney.
