If you are visiting or live on the Gold Coast, I would definitely add this to your list of things to do on your day out. The is a small cafe at the feeding spot too, so grab a snack or lunch and watch the pelicans.

Beware of the wild birds they're very snappy with young kids, but the display is remarkable and well worth catching. It's amazing how big the birds are and how close you get to them. Arrive early to find a park, they're unlimited on weekends but 2hr only through the week. Fish and chips right next to it is yummy but you have to wait as it's very popular. The beach has shade structures and trees adjacent.

Awesome experience. Absolutely love these birds. 100% encourage anyone who's debating seeing this, to go do it!!! Definitely worth the long drive from Brisbane!!!

Best place to bring kids to watch pelican feeding. The feeding will start around 12.30 pm. There’s free parking nearby but you must go early in order to secure the spot. We also had our lunch at the fish and chips restaurant where they feed the fish to the pelicans.

Feeding starts at 1.30pm not 12.30 as stated in the below review. We got here around 12, saw some pelicans in the water but didn’t stick around for the feeding.

Nature is so amazing! The birds know when to arrive for feeding and disperse when it is over. The interesting thing is the row of birds at the back! They stand there patiently and in an orderly manner even during feeding time, so civilized!
