Hugo Photography

Hugo and his crew showed up in a timely manner and were quite friendly. We booked them for the entire day of our wedding and they traveled down to the country to capture our wedding.After we received our images, they were very unprofessional and quite grainy. I personally do photography and found the photos we received to be very poor quality. Hugo and his crew lacked creativity, there were mostly ‘point and shoot’ shots, rather than capturing moments. Hugo and his crew also didn’t use any lighting, hence why so many of the photos appeared very dark and grainy (this could also be due to the incorrect camera equipment and lack of skill in post-editing. Hugo also didn’t seem to have skill in color correction, image noise reduction (removing grain), and applying the correct brightness and exposure in images, all images were inconsistent shades.When Hugo sent through all our wedding images (about 4 months later for final versions), there was no specific order, it was just a dump of all photos taken on that day, there sometimes 4 duplicates of each image and my wife and I had to filter through hundreds of duplicates. I also asked if I could have the original photo files so I could personally edit the photos (being a photographer myself), but he refused because it apparently it wasn’t in our contract and it would violate his copyright terms. Some photos were just so horrible, like the wedding dress capture. Hugo admitted that they were horrible and offered to have a photographer come about 6 months after the wedding to ‘re-take’ images of the wedding dress. However, that was not acceptable for the poor work. He also offered to re-edit some photos to try and fix his mistakes (which didn’t fix anything), but why would good photography work need to be re-edited and re-captured?Overall, I’m very disappointed with Hugo photography and I would never recommend their careless services to anyone. The photos advertised adequate to < 1% of his work, and if you want to see his work, make sure to request the complete photos taken at our wedding, ESPECIALLY of the wedding dress. Worst $7000 ever spent!!I’ve looked at previous reviews and the reviews seemed to be fine (hopefully they were genuine reviews and stock photos weren’t used). Perhaps Hugo had too much work and not enough resources, hence why he took so long to edit and lacked in quality. Also the possibility that his crew forgot lighting equipment on that day, and simply just didn’t care about our wedding at all as they had more important tasks to do. I’m really amazed that Hugo is considered a photographer.

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you Hugo for our wedding! The pictures and videos are just amazing! Every guest and family loved you and saw how passionate you are about your job! Smiling, make everyone feels at their ease, it was just great to have you with us! And even more, thanks to your drone, our video looks like it's a Hollywood movie hahaI will definitely recommend Hugo without a doubt! I had the pleasure of working with Hugo (photographer) and Tim (videographer) recently at a wedding at Glenmore Estate in the Hunter Valley where I was the celebrant. Hugo has a great reputation in the wedding industry and lots of amazing review and know I know why.He has very high attention to detail. His experience is very evident in everything that he does. He provides lots of direction to the couples (not in a bossy way) which produces the best photos.On top of all that he is very funny! I loved working with him and can't wait to meet him again.
