Green Cathedral

We first visited the Green Cathedral 40 years ago. Attending a wedding there yesterday brought to mind that visit. Little has changed. The open air setting nestled under towering palms on the sandy shore of Smith's Lake, Tiona is simply beautiful. There is a spiritual serenity enveloping the cathedral that turns one's thoughts to a greater presence. Travelling north from Sydney, the diversion along Lakes Way from Buladelah to Forster is a rough stretch of road, but well worth a pothole or two if you stand in the Green Cathedral and reflect on your life. Highly recommended.

We have had the great fortune of being married here. A Truly magical area. We recently went back to have a swim in the lake which was soo warm & Salty. We could walk out 100m if we wanted too. Beautiful sun coming through the canopy of the tree forest. Beautiful spot.

Great place to visit. I felt full at peace. It is a beautiful place to sit with your thoughts and reflect on my life and how lucky I am.

Lovely cathedral with a difference - completely outdoor. Beautiful setting. Wish I could be there for Sunday service. There's a regular 10am Sunday service.

A really nice and peaceful place to sit and reflect on the bank of Lake Wallis.

We were driving by the area and we stopped. It's a very nice spot. The cathedral perfect for ceremonies but, the surroundings are also great for photoshoots.

The view is absolutely 5 stars, it is breath taking please visit, however for a wedding ceremony be careful, we booked in Feb 21, contracts exchange, money paid however when Nov 22 came around our stylist called us an hour and a half before our ceremony was meant to start to say another wedding had out timeslot... The management of the location didn't handle it very well and told our guests who had arrived at the location 'things happen'. Thankfully we had amazing vendors who sorted it and were able to make it happen for us, just delayed. I never received another phone call back from the management even though I was told I would. It made our ceremony & prior to the wedding very stressful.

Such a lovely and tranquil cathedral that is secretive and hidden. Highly recommend you paying a visit if you’re in the area, will only take up 5-10minutes of your time and most definitely worth it

Although the location is very beautiful, the managers of the location are beyond useless. We had booked, and paid for the venue in February, when our wedding in November arrived we received a phone call 1 hour prior to walking down the isle letting us know that it was double booked. The venue manager was little to no help, and we had to rely on our celebrant coordinating with the 2 other weddings that were booked to share the venueWe give 2 stars because the view is worth 5, but the management ruined it for us that we won't recommend it to anyone else
