5.0 - Very popular pastry cafe with amazing old-school goodies. Loads of people lining up to enjoy them for Takeaway or even to have there, with coffees. Loved the Sweetheart pastry, Custard ones and the Pei Darn (Egg)! So good!! Fresh from the oven, quality taste and flaky pastry. I am impressed, and I don't say that often!

I went to the burwood chinatown location and the sweetheart pastries were really nice. Heat them in your air fryer/oven for 200° for 2 minutes for a nice brown flaky pastry top.

If you’re looking for truly authentic Chinese pastries, maybe try elsewhere. I was very excited to try the red bean egg yolk pastry, only to find the taste of the egg yolk, which is the most important part of the pastry, having a very strange taste that I could not even bare to take a second bite. However, the crust was flaky and the red bean paste had just the right amount of sweetness, thus the 3 star. My partner tried the date pastry and commented that it was too dry.

Yummy! Anyway, the shop has been moved to a new place, closed to 85c bakery. We thought it was closed last time when we were at the old address…

Buttery smell of the pastry was got us to try this out. Pastries themselves were a bit dry.

I'm saying this as a person that's not a huge fan of Chinese pastries but their pasties are amazing. It's buttery and flaky and the right amount of sweetness. A must try in Burwood!
