Cockatoo Lake Campsite
Lake is full at present December 22, what a splendid camp, nature going off, level shaded grassed ground, flushing loo, shelter shed, boat ramp.Locals enjoy this place too with recreational water activities, boats, jet skis etc.Still plenty of room for all.Mostly bitumen roads in,only the last few k's are well made limestone rd.Hope to get back, the lake is huge.Dog friendly on a leash.has a small playground

Fabulous little spot. Not a huge amount of space for camping and no designated sites. Get there early. Bush toilet was ok and there are bins available. No access around the lake at the moment due to flooding but it is a very pleasant place to relax with huge gum trees. The cockatoo are very noisy but you can move away from them.

A great stopover for a night or more. Been here a few times, this time the lake was full which makes it very pleasant. Large grassy site for plenty of vans. Noisy birds, but I don't mind that - is all part of camping. Great location, donation box by boat ramp.

Great area for a day or two. Very quiet. Toilet but no other facilities. Sites such as these are appreciated by travellers. Thank you

10:10 Freecamp site. So pretty & peaceful sitting on the grass edge of the lake. Early morning the lake surface is smooth and makes a mirror image of the surroundings. Lots and lots of bird life including Kookaburra's with early morning wake up call. Rubbish bin and fire pits provided, no toilets so bring your own toilet and water. Dogs permitted. Boat ramp available. Lots of room for campers.Doesn't get much better. No real problem with insects which is a nice relief. Only downside is the maybe 5kms of gravel road (road in good condition though).

Large grass area with fire pits, flushing toilet {1 only) with disability hand rails & fresh water. Donation box next to boat ramp.Unfortunately the water level was quite low and the lake smelt quite bad. Lots of bird life and the most insects I have ever seen anywhere.

No water in the lake. Very muddy and someone had been doing skids on the swampy grass. Totally spoilt it.

Wide appeal...great spot to overnight and also picnic. Flushing toilets a big bonus. For Speedboat and ski uses, the lake is excellent. Kayaking is also appealing.
