Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum

Welcomed by a lovely gentleman who showed a great passion and knowledge for the collection. What a collection it is, we spent a good couple of hours here and I don't think I seen everything. All displays have information on them, everything you could possibly imagine naval way I reckon was on display. At only $5 to enter it was very worth it.

Fantastic museum with so many incredible artifacts, boating relics, model boats and stories about Australian naval history. Well worth a visit on a rainy day. only $5 for an adult best value museum that you could easily immerse your self in for an hour or two

Went here yesterday and found it interesting the huge number of model ships plus all the interesting history associated with naval and maritime history. Such an amazing experience

It would have to be one, if not the best, the museums I've been to. The history it covers is unbelievable. If you go to Ballina and don't go, you'll be missing out on a great learning experience. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

Absolutely amazing. Highly recommended for anyone even vaguely interested in anything nautical or military. Great value at only $5 entry. Spent over 2 hours and didn't really see it all.

Nice volunteers working there to help you explain the questions you have. They are nice and helpful.

Amazing museum. Knew nothing about the raft adventure until we saw the actual raft and watched the whole video. VERY VERY Interesting! A must do!

Beautiful museum pretty interesting to know that people sailed from Ecuador to Australia on rafts and they also apparently had 300 model boats (I'm not actually sure because I didn't count them) but I took about 257 photos of things in the museum. You can learn to tie knots and they also have a steering wheel with a fog horn ( the fog horn is very very loud and it will most probably annoy you) at the reception they sell little boats that floats and drives on water personally I liked the secret money boxes and one says keep out with a skull with cross bones and they're made of wood. You need to pull out one piece out of the box and then slide it open.
