Bakes & Bagels (Thornbury)

Enjoyed bagels here on a Sunday afternoon. The menu really has something for everyone – sweet and savoury, meat, vegetarian and vegan. Coffee was good and the bagels we ordered were fresh, tasty and arrived quick.It was quite busy despite it being late morning with many arriving for takeaway.The place is very small so be prepared that you may not get a seat.Would recommend when you are in the mood for a yummy bagel.

Really good coffee and fantastic gluten free bagels when I ate there on 06/02/23! The coffee was so good that after my walk, I wentback for another one! The young, female staff member taking orders remembered that I had ordered a bagel maybe two hours earlier and asked how it was! Awesome customer service!! Impressed - will definitely be back!

Just had their everything salmon bagel for takeaway before work, and it was absolutely fantastic. I've had their vegan joe before as well and that has never disappointed!! The staff are always friendly and I'm so glad they're a part of the miller street shops!

Is this the best bagel I've eaten in Melbourne?Affirmative. I had the Reuben on an Everything bagel - great texture and generous filling. My partner had the smashed avo on an Everything bagel - really flavourful and delicious. I suspect we'll be back.

A lovely little Cafe in the Miller St shops. First time to visit after regularly seeing crowds out front. The menu is not broad, and all bagel based as per its name. I enjoyed a salmon breakfast bagel which I really enjoyed. Cute place, nice food, lovely coffee. Recommend.

It's hard finding a bagel place that offers a similar experience to New York City, Bakes & Bagels come close.I chose a Reuben with an everything bagel, two cravings that have been barely satiated since visiting New York pre-COVID. The hunt for a Reuben with the right quantum of pastrami (lots) balanced with an equal amount of Sauer kraut (also lots) is surprisingly hard to come by, Bakes & bagels delivers on this. The generous packaged bagel will definitely fill you up and leave you very satisfied. The team has not compromised the quality with quantity, the flavours of the Reuben hits the spot perfectly with the right amount of sauce and pickles.My only mistake was getting two Reubens when I should have chosen different options to share... Next time.

Literally the best bagels in Melbourne. But, not only that - their Hot Chocolate is freaking phenomenal. An awesome choice of European chocolate powder with a delicious marshmallow!!

Cute cafe, tasty bagels, and incredible Dog walk of fame.I ordered cream cheese and jam bagel and the only downside was that they only put the cream cheese on one side, which meant I had to eat it as a sandwich - resulting in most of the filling falling out.Was still overall really tasty though and would return again. Was very busy so had to wait a while, but definitely a local gem.
