Dance IM is certainly not just any dance school. Izzy's passion shines through her. Not only is there is a strong feeling of community, but she has a unique way to bring genuine joy together with a real focus on technique. Izzy knows what she's doing and it shows!Highly recommended for absolute beginners as well as experienced dancers. A big YES :)

Izzy and Steve create a fun and welcoming environment for new dancers as well as expert instruction, guidance and support as students develop. The community feel is awesome and the parties they host for social dancing are the best. Cannot recommend highly enough for people wanting to learn zouk or those wanting to explore a new class!

Izzy is a horrendously insensitive and rude instructor and i will never attend her classes again. I was shocked when she directly insulted me to my face in a class one day. Obviously she cares little about building a business by treating her students respectfully. Having said that, Steve is a wonderful and patient teacher. Izzy however has a lot to learn about dealing with people. I recommend you find a different school.

More than a dance class, as soon as you walk in you become part of something special. Izzy soon gets you dancing, no partner necessary. Izzy doesn't just teach you how to dance she teaches you how to move your body how to listen to music, how to breath and how to connect to others and to the music.Brazilian Zouk is so good it's addictive, and there is no other school dedicated to Brazilian Zouk in Melbourne - DanceIM.If you didn't know Brazilian Zouk is like salsa but way cooler. If you think you'll never be able to do it - you're wrong! Izzy and the DanceIM community will show you and support you through your dance journey.

Izzy and Steve are the best zouk teachers in Melbourne I have been to! They teach in depth about how to lead and follow properly and how to nail the laterals and body movements so that it looks amazing. I did their intensive level 2 course for five weeks and their level 2 and 3 zouk 6 week courses on thursdays. There is so much more to learn from them and I feel like I finally understand things and feel like I am on my way to dancing like a pro. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Dance I'M run by Izzy Washington, who is the only female Zouk dedicated teacher/Instructor in Melbourne , brings a tone of experience and expert advise to your dance classes. She has been living in Brazil for little while in the past, learning from the top guns of the style, to offer us students, only the best of Best in Brazilian Zouk. Highly recommended classes that are run in blocks so students can learn progressively improving their skills rather than individual moves only. Also if you female dancer looking to learn some typical Zouk follower techniques, there is no better place to start like Dance IM
