I have had several meals there including breakfast on a Sunday and dinners. The staff are good, food is fantastic. They do an amazing eggs Benedict and I love the garlic prawns, I have had their porterhouse steak medium rare which was cooked to perfection

We came here on Tuesday and stopped in for lunch for our wedding anniversary. We ordered 2 entrees, 2 mains, kids meal and drinks. Entrees and kids meal came out very quickly and not even 5 mins later the mains arrived. Took one bite of my pork schnitzel and it tasted funny so I look at it closer only to realise it’s not cooked properly and my husbands was the same. Chips tasted stale and gravy was cold and looked like jelly. The waitress came over to ask if we would like take away containers as I had only taken 1 bite and my husband had attempted about 1/4 and we let her know the reason why we couldn’t eat it and didn’t want to take it home (we did not ask for anything it was just to let them know so they don’t make people sick) she returned a couple of minutes later to let us know the manager and chef both agreed it was undercooked and would we like a free dessert or drink. We obviously declined as there was no way we wanted the chef that couldn’t cook our food properly making us a dessert. The only reason this deserves a 1 star review is for the lovely waitress. If you are going to eat a meal here I would suggest you cut it open first to check it’s cooked and also hot enough to eat.

Great breakfasts. Excellent scrambled eggs, bacon perfectly cooked, sourdough toast was light and tasty. Unfortunately breakfast is only available on Sunday mornings, but if you are in Tanunda on a Sunday morning, this is the place to eat.

Delightful dining experience. Pub meal choice of a chicken schnitzel, was cooked superbly, including the veges, service was prompt, friendly and faultless. Desert Chocolate Brownie was excellent, like a home make chocolate pudding in flavour. Chocolate Cheesecake with Berry Compote was demolished with gusto and wife loved it. Communication from the staff was excellent from all and amongst the best communications I have ever received. And this was on a crowded public holiday. Great choices on the wine front, too. The Mercury Draft Cider is bloody good, too. Dry and watch out for the 6.9% content of alcohol.

We have been two nights in a row for meals, both nights all meals were great. Large servings, great service and a very well organised kitchen. Highly recommended.

Brought UK friends for pub lunch. Booked table prior, allowing our dog able to sit in the garden. Yes busy & a little prolonged waiting time but is the post-COVID" problem in many dining places. Food well presented a scrumptious. Friendly busy staff!"

Good pub, for drinks. The menu indicated VE meant Vegan food, but there were no actual options on the entire menu. Front of house staff did not know what could be made Vegan. The best the chef could come up with was leaving off the basil pesto from the Veggie stack, which made it quite an uninspiring dish. My recommendation to Tanunda Hotel would be to either make an actual effort to put some tasty Vegan things on the menu or just make clear you cannot be bothered and leave it off all together. I hope you choose option 1 as I liked the venue and would like to have some good food next time around.

We were walking on the Heysen Trail and the Hotel apartments were the only rooms available. We were cold and wet and arrived quite late at the hotel. We had a huge room in the apartments. It had a kitchenette and a huge spa bath. Very well-appointed. We were able to dry all out stuff, have a nice batch and cooked ourselves a dinner. We liked it so much we stayed a second night. When we go back to do the next section we'll stay here again for sure. Really nice friendly staff.
