Fish Tales Cairns Fishing Charters
Enjoyed a private charter with captain Darryl yesterday. The reef fishing was excellent and the weather was gr8. We got to see a sail fish juming too. Lunch was good and the tackle was great to use. As a southern whiting fisher person this was a eye opener. Better than catching snapper of Adelaide.Now the catching of snapper in South Australia has been stopped for the next 3 years I'm just going to save up to come back next year.Cairns is cool lots to see more than just fishing..

Fish Tales Cairns Fishing Charters
A great morning collecting live bait and estuary fishing with Daryl. Between myself and only five other people, hooked four different species, including a spectacular Barramundi which leapt from the water during the fight. Daryl’s personable nature, extensive knowledge of the waterway and the local area, provided a fantastic FNQ experience.

As the only woman on board and not being into fishing (only went for partner's sake) I found it a bit boring and uncomfortable. A few fish were caught by everyone, but all but one (caught by me!) were too small to keep. We did the estuary half day trip because it was the only one going at the time, due to weather. Darryl did the hard work of putting the bait on the line etc and then getting the fish off and catching the bait at the start and again when we ran out.

Fish Tales Cairns Fishing Charters
We had a great day with Darryl. He was fantastic. I caught the biggest fish of my life and we had two other men on board who were great company. Even if you didn't catch a fish (like my husband) it was such a good trip. Darryl kept us all laughing. Would highly recommend them for any fishing trips.
