Quality Inn Railway

Kids beds had no doona covers so we got to see the yellow and brown stains on the doonas. Rooms aren't apart of main complex but on the street behind, so you don't get room service and to use pool you have to either walk around block or drive....no mention of this when you book.

Dinner was a nightmare. Ordered at the same time as a colleague and waited 45 mins longer for my meal. Asked for no chips and got only chips. Unfortunately the dtaff arent proficient in English so are unable to understand. English is not my first language either so I do understand the struggle. Booking was an inconvenience. Needed a room for 2 nights. Had to book 2 separate rooms so had to check out after night one and take all my stuff only to check in again the next day. Asked if I could stay in the same room, was told they'd let me know. They never did. Just left me to check out. First stay here and most likely my last. The rooms were amazing, spacious and modern but they don't make up for the bad experiences.

A great location when visiting Kalgoorlie. Right across the road from the railway station and 10 minutes walk to Hannan St and the Town centre. The rooms are clean and tidy and generally comfortable. Breakfast and dinner is available at the on-site restaurant. Better to walk to one of the many cafe's and pubs close by. The hotel breakfast is not good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Bed was comfortable enough, staff were friendly and we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. Food was good, as was service.On the negative side, the motel is very noisy overnight (freight trains blasting their horn at 3am), and early mornings - mine workers start banging around loudly as they leave from around 5am. On one morning of our stay a large bus kept coming and going from about 5:45am. Every time he came back he would reverse just outside our room (think - bus reversing beeping noise). So inconsiderate and management clearly unconcerned about these disturbances for guests. In short, we were woken before 5am every morning during our 3 night stay. Can’t wait to get home for a sleep. Good for a one night stay if you want the convenience of the railway station over the road, but I would not recommend Quality Inn if you value sleep and wish to feel rested at the end of your stay.Also quite disappointed in the housekeeping service - or complete lack thereof. Paperwork and price ($188 a night for a double room) said “daily room servicing is included”. This is so wrong - all they did was replace the towels and empty the bin each day. Didn’t make our bed, nothing wiped, left dirty coffee cups untouched. It seems that this motel, like so many, have used COVID as an excuse to remove housekeeping services - but not adjust pricing to reflect the lack of service.

Easy to get to, central, lots of parking, good service and very well equipped and presented rooms. The best accommodation I stayed in for the price, driving across from the ACT to Perth.
