Fantastic atmosphere with very high level mentors who practice what they preach. The kadic brothers have all mentored myself and many others over the course of many years.Cannot wait for the next training.

I had enrolled my son in this JKA Martial Art School in Noble Park more than 2 years ago.My son is now 11 years old and he is a brown belt currently . It took not only lot of time but also financial investment and commitment to get him where he is at today. However recently a horrible incident happened to my son on the 27/2/19 and only then I came to know about the attitude and inappropriate act of the instructor towards innocent children. My son is old enough to attend his sessions in a group setting and so I dropped him off to his session on the 27/2/19. On my return , I bumped into an adult student who said to me “ your son has been treated very badly , they should have treated everyone equally “. When I got to the class room door , I found my son sobbing in tears . He was unable to talk to me for next 10 min . We came back to the car and sat inside the car for another 10 min. Then he started-“ the instructor had asked me to move forward which was after a verbal altercation that he had with another student . Instead of stating it verbally , the instructor kicked me rudely , I got hurt “.I could not believe some one ( supposed to act as an “ instructor “ ) could do that to a child .So I checked with him 2/3 times to make sure that it didn’t happen ( kicking) as part of the training .Then to my horror ,my son disclosed to me that it had been going on for last few months where the same instructor would put him down / verbally abuse him with no reason and hence he had been refusing to go to the sessions lately ( which I thought him refusing to go for being tired on weekdays after school ).The school had already closed for that day . I didn’t know what to do . So I went to the nearest police station where “ a very helpful officer (???)” refused to take it as a report as “ there was no bruising “ on my son’s body . “ The officer “ surely didn’t understand the long term effect of the humiliation , verbal and the physical abuse on a developing mind .The next day I spoke to the Martial Art Industry Association ( MAiA) who took that complaint and also advised me to check the accreditation of the organisation that my son had been going to .I was not surprised to find out that this “ JKA Noble Park “ IS NOT ACCREDITED. That is why they have failed to maintain the regulations regarding teaching children and has gone beyond “working safely with children “ to “ abusing children “.I am also not surprised that the instructor has not even bothered to contact me after the incident ( or should I say after ongoing incidents over few months ?) to discuss with me let alone asking for apology.Again my son has been a regular student for more than 2 years !!!He is dare enough to continue this attitude and God knows how many kids will become victims of his inappropriate outrageous acts.I would like all parents to know this so they can check the accreditation of the organisation before their kids get enrolled in any where .I do not know any other way to ask for help for how to escalate this matter so it does not happen ever again to any other child .I do not agree with that “ police officer “ to wait until a child gets bruised on his body and end up having an internal haemorrhage . I believe it is my moral duty to warn parents .
