I have had a variety of services at ALT including hair removal, vein removal and weight-loss therapy. All of the treatments have been extremely rewarding for me and I always look forward to my appointments. The clinicians are very knowledgeable and I learn something new each time I attend. It is a locally owned and operated business that I recommend highly to everyone.

I have been attending ALT for laser hair removal for the last 8 months and have loved my experience here! The staff are very friendly and Karen is very knowledgeable and experienced. I have relatively light hairs, so I was sceptical about the results that I would see, but now being on my 6th session, I never shave between treatments as my hairs are so thin, I can hardly see them. Even since moving out of Cairns, I fly back to receive my treatment as I trust no one else to get the results, and the laser which Karen tells me is one-of-a-kind in Australia, hardly causes me discomfort. I still have a couple of sessions to go, and it is relatively expensive short-term, but considering the amount I was paying for professional waxing previously, it has already paid itself off and has been the best present I have given myself! I recommend ALT to all my family and friends here in Cairns who are thinking about laser hair removal!

Wonderful friendly and professional. One session of laser hair removal and the hairs is almost completely gone already. Gobsmacked with how effective it was given how comfortable the procedure was. Subsequently having other procedures done including some spots on my face, which are almost gone after just a week.

I’ve tried to do this Google review several times and it hasn’t worked. Hopefully this time it will! I can’t seem to add photos because they are too grotesque for Google.I had a peel done on a surgical scar on my lower abdomen on Thurs the 19th of Jan by Karen. The whole appointment was shockingly uncomfortable in many ways. From her not informing me of potential adverse reactions, not patch testing me, not wearing gloves, causing me severe discomfort whilst doing it and leaving me without underwear to return to work in. Also not informing prior to having the peel done that I would need follow up care four days later. You’d think that would be the worst of it…The next day I flew to Brisbane for work and when I woke I had broken skin and the start of open wounds. I had text Karen but didn’t hear anything back foe several hours. She told me to go buy “Medipulv” and apply it (a cream for burns, this will be humerus later) apply it and the after care around it. I covered it with hospital grade dressings because I was staying with my best friend who is a Clinical Nurse for a hospital. The next morning we took them off to find my skin had completely burnt away through several layers over both of my hip bones. I took photos and sent them to Karen and advised her I was heading to hospital.Whilst in the waiting room of Logan Hospital she rang and told me to, “Just apply the aftercare and see if it stings.” Along with telling me, “That her stretch mark client she showed me photos of had the same thing happen but it was a beautiful result.” And that, “It was now a burn.”I was treated for dermal burns from a chemical reaction and the only reason allowed to leave hospital was because they were happy with me being cared for at home by my best friend because she was a nurse. I had to represent to Cairns Hospital on my return home.I did this and unfortunately ended up in hospital that day Wed the 25th of Jan and they needed instruction from Royal Brisbane Burns Unit as to how to progress with them.I then followed up with my GP on Tues the 1st of Feb and started yet another round of burn treatment with a silver compound burn cream.Unfortunately that wasn’t the end, I had in that time contracted an MRSA staph infection from the burns. By Sun the 5th of Feb I was back in hospital with little pustules developing over my entire body and a boil under my arm. On Tues the 7th of Feb I had emergency surgery on the boil. I still have another week of antibiotics, my fourth different lot in hopefully trying to get rid of the infection.Karen hasn’t apologised to me once and denies burning me this entire time. Has done nothing but be patronising, condescending and gaslighting to me in response to her medical negligence trying to make me feel as if I had done something wrong. I’ve been left unable to work a full week of work now for over a fortnight and am also unable and still for sometime unable to train for my sports I compete in. I’m left mentally drained and emotional.

If I could give more stars I would! I found this place when I was in cairns for 6 months last year and came based on reviews and was not disappointed!Chris has been an absolute gem! I’ve had a lot of areas lasered (half face, Brazilian, full legs) and his attention to detail is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! He is kind, knowledgeable and the appointments fly by. It is more expensive than other laser therapy, but it is the real deal and I trust Chris more than I trust anyone. I recently tried to find the Chris equivalent in Melbourne and no one came close.Karen had also been so lovely!Thank you both so much
