Chargrill Charlie’s Coogee

Good food, pity the pricing doesn’t match the signage. $65 for 2 chicken roll combos and an extra roll isn’t exactly takeaway pricing and doesn’t match the signage.I’ll leave this place for the celebrities.

The decor is gorgeous and quite cozy. However, the sandwiches are overpriced, and the grills are pretty standard

Chargrill Charlie’s is back in Coogee and is extremely popular with the locals because every time I see it, they have a huge amount of people in the shop. Be prepared to take a ticket when you enter and wait to hear your number. During the busy times you can expect to wait for a while. They have a lot of staff working behind the counter though, so it’s not too bad. The food is fresh and delicious. Everything is given to you in takeaway packaging but you can sit at the various tables and chairs in the shop. There is even a large sink with soap to wash your hands before and after eating. Or you can use the hand sanitiser available at the front entrance. They have a huge variety of meals to choose from starting with their signature bbq chicken, hot wings, schnitzel, potatoes, chips, vegetables, salads, salmon, burgers, milkshakes and so much more. Chargrill Charlie’s in Coogee have added a very impressive salad room which you can view through glass panels. The fridges are expertly packed with the freshest ingredients which get cut up in front of you before being placed in the shop counter for sale. It is really cool and the salads are so delicious.

We stopped by for lunch. The food was cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We had half a roasted chicken, baked pumpkin, thia chicken salad, and a vegetable fritter.

They have a HUGE menu so this review is of what I had rather than the restaurant as a whole. We got Portuguese burger and roll with chips and can (combo). Very generous serving but overall a bit soggy and not very chargrilled as you expected. Chicken salt skinny fries were very moreish! The shop was busy and lots of options! Will return to try more! The schnitzels and salads look great!

Very nice atmosphere from lighting to seating and design. Wide selection of salads and hot foods and a minimal selection of desserts. I have had the banoffee pie from here twice and both times it has been quite nice except the cream becomes super runny if it is not refrigerated and makes the whole thing slop. If you were to order anything, the caesar salad is nice but the prices of everything are just so steep and not really worth it.

Chargrill Charlies is located at a very prominent location plus with its bright red signage, it is easily recognise on the way to Coogee beach. Customers will need to get a number in order to be served. When the numbers is being called, prepare to order and pay. Food is served almost immediately after we were seated. Grilled chicken is very flavorful and juicy, remember to pair it with Thai sauce, it is super good! This is a shop worth returning for us.

@ Charlie's grill coogee!Waiting was disappointing the food I ordered was okay but the staff lady offered me a spoon treat with the vanilla cheese cake and I accepted. Almost as I received the meal I ordered as I was leaving there was no spoon drats ! Better luck next time or not!

The menu is plentiful and there is something for everyone’s palate/ taste. The food was quick and delicious as well as reasonably priced. My family of four ordered together and shared. There was plenty of food for all, in fact there were leftovers. We had the 1/2 chicken, a large Cesar Salad, large mixed greens, and a large potato wedge. Each of which could have been fulfilling to any individual by itself. Overall the service was great the vibes were good and the food was delicious. Highly recommended if your in the area!
