The ORCA Project Albany Creek

Our son currently attends the ORCA Project and has done quite significant Milestones. He learned a lot of things and developed his confidence and social skills. The ORCA team's coaches, staff and volunteers are great - they had been understanding, supportive and patient with our son's challenges. They also handle communications very well in terms of our son's progress and future plans. I highly recommend the ORCA project!and to those who are hesitant, please give them a call and they are always happy to assist and find ways to help your young adult.

Our son Tom is a participant in the ORCA Project as he needed to develop work preparation skills. ORCA has been a marvellous opportunity for him to attain these skills via centre-based programs and community-based work experience trials. Tom will conclude his two years program in September and has already gained insights into the world of work and developed confidence and initiative. The staff and volunteers are very dedicated and supportive of Tom and his classmates. He enjoys attending the program and is hopeful of obtaining some part-time work and voluntary work in teh near future.

My son attended the ORCA program and it has been a very positive experience. He has developed many practical skills, and had access to various work experience opportunities. These have all assisted him to grow as a young adult in terms of his confidence, his communication skills and his ability to prepare for and complete tasks. The team at ORCA consider each individual's goals and customise a plan for each term that is going to see each participant do their absolute best. Both the coaches, other paid employees and the volunteers are carefully selected to ensure they are a great fit for the organisation, and the participants. The team is pro-active with their communication and are always available should you wish to discuss any aspect of your young adult's program. I would highly recommend anyone to get in touch with the ORCA program.

ORCA is an amazing post special school program for young adults. Can't speak highly enough of the content, staff, experiences and learning it provides. Utterly brilliant!

We particularly appreciated the emphasis on hands-on learning and the opportunity to work in real world environments.We have tried a few other programs but nothing has even come close to the opportunities that ORCA has to offer these amazing students.

Building on some great foundations from his previous special school, The Orca Project has provided some great scaffolding for our son as he finds his way after school. He’s been exposed to a variety of working environments, developed new skills and has expanded his horizons.

This has been a life saver for my son and our family. Going from a school refuser and with no positive outlook to a grown young man with life long friends and now paid employment. Employment on his terms, his interests, his hours. If i could I would recommend the ORCA program to all young adults feeling lost in this in between area. Reach out for your dreams, ORCA and the team diffidently helped my son.

As the parent of an ex participant, I highly recommend The ORCA Project - a fabulously supportive team working with participants to explore real world employment options. The hands on in-house enterprises & external site visits together with an encouraging & engaging environment all combine to make ORCA the perfect place for participants to learn more about themselves and what employment might look like for them. Amazing to watch the confidence grow with each term. We now have paid employment 2 days a week at a job we love, and confidently volunteer one day a week in another position. Thank you ORCA.

The ORCA program has been instrumental in helping our son to not only learn work skills, but to build his confidence and motivation. We have seen a HUGE improvement in his ability to initiate and hold conversations, his enthusiasm to try something new and his excitement for a new stage of his life - in the workforce. We cannot recommend this program highly enough for parents who believe their young adults need an extra stepping stone after school.
