Warburton Community Clinic
Friendly and helpful staff ; after hours emergency staff are also available ; facilities are a bit basic, but adequate. These services are funded with the intention of providing health care services to Ngaanyatjarra Community members. Emergency care provided on an as-needed basis to anyone who presents.History of the Warburton Clinic:Prior to 1954, there was sporadic and infrequent provision of Royal Flying Doctor Service planes that would most often fly to and from Kalgoorlie with patients. In the earliest days, the Warburton Clinic was a single nurse post. United Aborigines Mission (UAM) administered the clinic from 1954-1973. UAM was succeeded by the Australian Indland Mission Frontier Services. This change of management precipitated an expansion of medical services. During the years after the handover, Warburton clinic expanded from a single nurse post to a small hospital"* by the mid-1970s. (*I use the term hospital advisedly. It was named a hospital but did not provide the functions and services associated with a modern hospital facility)In the late 1970s
