Only stayed a couple of days would differently stay again. So peaceful with no one around enjoying the wilderness. It is the bush so be prepared for the bugs and insects all the part of it. No phone or internet love it

A wonderful place, deserving of respect and preservation. Roads are rough, 2wds proceed with caution. Lots of good hikes and canyoning.

This trek was harder for me (going back up), I'm really unfit however its super manageable given at any rest point you take, the views are breathtaking.Definitely worth the drive out and great for family time together.

Great hike to Canoe creek and the Colo River. Steep decent but lovely step gorges. Am curious to know how the canoe got to the creek?

Had an excellent Kayak down the Colo river and camped at Colo Meroo. It was pristine and beautiful. Can't recommend enough to any other avid outdoors people. It is quite a long paddle however (10km one way).

One of the most breathtaking places I've ever been. We literally climbed to the tops of some rocky hills and chilled for ages. Echos going out for miles. Dirt road leading in. You can go by car but go real slow. Lots of potholes. Glow worm tunnel here is an awesome experience as well.

A very interesting park where you will see a protected ruins site. There is the walk to the left from the river crossing approximately 1.1 km to the gated off area and then spend hours exploring the various stages of the old shale oil refinery including the retorts and paraffin separation plant. The ruins are marked and some signs offer explanations about various stages of the works.A second trip from the river crossing takes you over 9km to the Glow Worm Tunnel which was constructed to service Newnes, you are better to start first thing in the morning at the Ruins and then walk to the tunnel by noon. There is some wild life to be spotted; mostly small kangaroos and wallabies. Wombats seem to have disappeared since the terrible mange wiped out most of them over the last few years.

A great place for canyoning and camping experience. Non-chartered canyons available throughout the park.Challenging road but drivable on 2WD vehicles.
