The city of Forbes is the best place for travellers with free camping spot almost right in the middle of town and easy access to shops fuels. Amenities are there.

Grass sites plenty of room, amazing sunset, good amenities, you need to support these country towns after so many floods.....just go and find out for yourself......

Excellent camping ground. Water & electricity and amenities = $25. It's as quiet as! You can sit and read a book and just hear the birds...Not ideal if you have kids..they might get bored.Recommend overnight passing thru stay.

Forbes showground is a must stop. Close to town. $25 power and water....And was very quiet. You can volunteer with blazeaid and you accommodation becomes free and you get 3 meals a day.....so worth it....

Beautiful spot, only $15 for an unpowered site. If you're heading through the area, it's a lovely place to stay with welcoming staff and gorgeous grounds.

A great camp spot but by heck it can get cold of a night time. You are right up on top of the world here so expect cold to jump out of the ground and grab you by the ankles then drag you screaming and kicking into the freezer only to let you go next morning into the most glorious clear blue sky days you could ever hope for in a city the has been steeped in history. Don't just drive through, take the time to linger here a little while and smell the rarified air at 1400 metres. Glorious and beautiful.
