Strickland State Forest
Strickland State Forest is so beautiful. We only had time to do the Arboretum walk and it reminded us somewhat of the Daintree. Beautiful big trees, ferns, palms and lots of fungi to discover. Beautiful crystal clear streams to paddle in and enjoy. Highly recommend a visit here!

Spectacular Darkinjung Country. Such a beautiful forest to spend time walking the various trails. We did a 4km joint loop of the Bellbird and Arboretum tracks and it took just over an hour. Very easy trails, no steps or steep parts, we saw young kids and elderly doing it. Only shame is that dogs are allowed. I’m a dog lover too but it ruins the chances of seeing any wildlife. Most people also let their dogs off leash which is not cool! Bit of mud in some sections, but no leeches. It rained last week but not in the past few days so rest assured you won’t get leeches until it rains heavy again and you see more mud.

Nice spot on the coast to take your dog for an adventurous walk through a very pretty forest. Its always nice and cool in there plus there is the creek which my pup liked. Never too busy but always people around, there is a bin at the entrance to put any rubbish in, just be careful driving down the dirt road if its wet it may be slippery. A must visit if you're a local

A nice easy walk suitable to everyone, and will be great place for Mountain biking as well. You can just smell and feel the fresh air as you enter through the forest. You can park at the Stoney Creek carpark to start the walk, however the roads are unseal and will be most suitable to 4WD. Most tracks are just like under 2km and very easy. BUT there's an abundance of leeches after a rainfall so be PREPARED !!!

Absolutely beautiful scenery & some of the coolest old trees. The obvious plus is you can take your dog & it has a picnic area with firepits & rubbish bins. Toilets are handy too.

A great walk for a for hours hike with someone else, parking down the bottom was not difficult to locate or find parking for your vehicle. The trails are majority under the tree canopies, there is flowing water at some waterfalls though I’d recommend you take water purification tablets and apply. It’s actually a great adventure on the trails, take mosquito spray for the bottom part of the trail as you’ll find them as soon as you stop walking.

A great place to take the family for a walk/hike. Plenty of trails to take. If you are keen, would recommend to pack a small lunch and park at Stoney Creek car park. You then can trek to the Banksia Picnic Area, it is slightly inclined but a good walk there and back. Make sure to pack plenty of water as there is no facilities to fill your bottle.Well worth the drive there, a stones throw away if you live on the coast.

This state forest was a great walk. A great spot to walk your dog and some beautiful greenery, the water fall was great, the best time to see the waterfall is probably just after its rained just so you get the best experience. The road down to the car park is slightly hard for some vehicles due to pot holes.

Great spot for a walk. Plenty of signs during the walk so you won’t get lost. The walks are not hard at all, just some slight hills at times. After some rain it can be very muddy at some locations. Once entering off the main road there is a long loose graveled road but still ok for 2WD. Dogs are also allowed at Strickland State Forrest.
