Very good experience! I went on a scout camp for these caves and I had a very good time! Most of the caves are very open so people that get claustrophobic easily don’t have to worry. I went through 3 caves one cave we had to abseil into. There is a big walk involved but it’s worth it. Definitely would like to go there again.

The picnic spot was great, needed some shelters though as every table was in almost full sun on a very hot autumn day, but well maintained, quiet and pretty. The 600m self guided walk is awful, don't bother with it! Surrounded by weeds and fallen trees, just a mess and ugly, and the signs are so old most cant be read. That section needs a major overhaul.

The striking karst landscape at this national park is the remnant of coral reefs from an ancient sea.The many rocky niches here provide a vital habitat for bats, including vulnerable ghost bats and over 80% of the country’s breeding population of little bent-wing bats.As you might guess, Mount Etna Caves is a delicate habitat and visits are limited. But there are trails and a picnic area at the day-use area.December to February you can put your name down for a guided ranger tour when you can watch thousands of little bent-wing bats issuing from their roosts to hunt.

Someone went to a lot of effort to label trees on the 600m walk but the scrub looked like weed regrowth in an abandoned quarry. No birds. Maybe the bat cleft guided walk would be worthwhile but as a day visit there is not much here

The walking track is well marked, but I am not sure if the rangers have been clearing and burning, but it seems all of the noted marks" on the path have died

Went with the Scout's and it was exhilarating. Some nice little challenges which kids fly through an 8yr old. A 9 yr old and a 13yr old alll managed with ease.

The short walk was not worth it. Loads of dead trees and not well maintained. Information signs are bleached by the sun and unreadable.
