Freedom Driver Education

Couldn’t recommend Freedom Driver Education enough!I first met Denis in October 2019 when my OT recommended him to me for hand control lessons as I have dwarfism. He took me for my first drive around my neighbourhood and decided he didn’t think he was the right fit for my needs.The next day he called me and asked if he could come back because he’d not been able to stop thinking about how he could teach me to drive. He grabbed some scrap metal that he had in his shed and made what became the pedals I learned to drive with. Cut up a crate, stuck some foam on top of it to be a makeshift faux flooring and lessons began.Denis was very patient, was always kind and understanding when I’d either cancelled last minute or even forgotten about a lesson or was running late to meet him.Another thing that separates Denis from every other instructor though, is I don’t know any other instructor who would help his clients out the way he does. When I was getting my car mods done, he accompanied me for the drive to get the car looked at. He even come and picked me up after I crashed my car. Then let me drive his car back home as a lesson. (Given it wasn’t my fault).I couldn’t recommend a better instructor. He never let me give up, was honest with my progress, didn’t sugar coat anything. Would tell me what I did well and what I didn’t do well at too. There was a few stages due to Covid and life that I just couldn’t have lessons for a few months at a time, which meant I couldn’t drive so he basically had to teach me how to drive 3-4 times. The final time being the worst when I’d lost ALL my confidence right before my test due to the accident. He said to me “you’ve lost all your confidence, we gotta get you driving a lot more before you try again” and I TRULY needed to hear that. He would always tell me what I NEEDED to hear, not what I wanted to hear, but also in a way that showed he still believed in me. Without his support I wouldn’t of got behind the wheel of a car after my accident but because he picked me up that day and said something along the lines of “You gotta get back behind the wheel even though the accident happened a few hours ago, you gotta keep going!” I don’t think I would’ve driven again had he of not done that.I’m truly privileged to have had him teach me to drive! It was a great 3 years learning to drive with him and I couldn’t recommend him more!5/5 ⭐️ 100% rating!Thanks for everything Denis!
