Our usually fit, healthy and very playful 3yo Beagle X began to experience some lameness in his front leg which began to affect our walks/runs and his general quality of life. After 4 months of vet visits, various anti-inflammatories, X-Rays, treatments and finally and MRI at The Animal Hospital Murdoch University we still had no results or leads as to what was causing his ailment and there was no improvement in his condition. We were advised to see Carmel and the team at Active Pet Rehab and it was the best thing we ever did and I will always be returning here as a first port of call in the future!Carmel and the team were amazing with everything. Their knowledge, handling, care, compassion, empathy and understanding to different lifestyles and situations is what makes this practice, still by far, the best experience we have ever had as pet owners. Carmel and the team gave our boy a thorough examination and assessment and although there was no clear diagnosis initially, they were able to apply their experience and skills and provide the treatment they considered beneficial. Couple with the exercises we were given to help our boy on his recovery and Arlo began to make progress almost immediately, with his lameness recovering entirely in a matter of weeks (after months of getting no where this was such a relief for everyone!). Everyone at the local dog park was very happy to see the bouncy weird looking beagle return to his usual fast-paced happy self :)The follow up from Active Pet Rehab has also been very positive and most appreciated. We can't thank these special humans enough for helping us get our favourite four-legged friend fixed!

Carmel and the team are amazing. They gave us back our chocolate Labrador Walley after he had an FCE at 18 months old & was unable to walk. Carmel was one of the few practices we found in Perth that offered rehabilitation for dogs with Walleys condition. They were able to take him in a few days a week and rehab him using hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and mobility activities with various different tools. Some which we could borrow to continue rehab at home. Walley is now a happy and thriving nearly 5 year old, who still loves to visit Carmel every few months for a hydrotherapy session to help manage his weight. Highly recommend!

We can’t recommend Stef and Carmel enough for the care of our golden retriever and guidance provided to us. They are highly knowledgeable in their field, with our visits giving us confidence in how Hugo’s recovery was tracking post cruciate surgery. Stef and Carmel genuinely love the animals they treat and delight in improving their quality of life. Thank you both - Hugo has loved his visits (as has Sparky) and he’s back to his cheeky self!
