Travelled to Coffs from Bucca for a 4G antenna. 50k round trip. Well salesperson said this is the antenna you need, explained connection was different, he returned his attention from something outside to say, I owned the same router in Sydney, you’ll need this patch lead. Off home, patch lead would not fit. Back to Coffs, now 100k’s in car. Pin was flattened on patch lead gave us another lead, young salesman said he tried it fitted no worries, go away. Home again all excited, put connector in router and antenna on roof, back to router, connector on floor. You guessed it back to Coffs, now 150k’s in car to return whole thing. Well met Lianne, lovely lady, actually was interested and knew what she was about. Sorry the patch lead you need won’t be in stock till July. She even tried phoning other retailers for us. So the original salesman, who said he knew everything, knew nothing. Cost us 150k and 2.5hrs of driving for nothing. However, if we go back I’ll be looking for Lianne, lovely lady, knows her stuff.

The service was first class. I needed a special fuse. They new exactly what it was and where to find it and were open on Sunday. They were very friendly and happy to help. It allowed me to get back up and running immediately. Thanks Jaycar.

We came in looking for a portable travel kettle. They sold us one without warning us about the possible damage it might cause to the cigarette lighter socket. When we came back we returned the kettle and got a refund but the manager said it’s not his problem and that we should have done the research ourselves before buying anything. Even though I understand they are not responsible for these kind of damages, they could have mentioned that when we were buying the item, or at least said something like “sorry that this happened to you” instead of being dismissive like “it’s your problem, we don’t care”. In the end I had to go to an auto electrician to fix the damage that was caused by the travel kettle. I understand they cannot take responsibility for damages of this kind however, not warning us of a potential damage at the time of purchase, and later being rude and dismissive about it made me feel very dissatisfied as a customer.
