Sunshine Gardens Bourke Resort

Gates were broken and left us not feeling secure. Room was well presented which was good but sadly we won’t be back to Bourke.

Rooms are modern looking and clean and the staff at reception were more than friendly. Unfortunately, for the price you paid ($150) the look of the rooms is superficial and all of the furnishings are cheap and uncomfortable. The beds in the room were rock hard and only a single thin pillow was provided for each of the double beds. The work table was a plastic fold out job from Kmart and the 2 plastic chairs were also unusable for any length of time. As a worker in the road, a basic table and chair can make all the difference.Will give another if the local motels a go next time through.

Overpriced for what you get. Bed was enourmous, took up most of the space in the room. Could downsize and have room for a table and chairs / couch maybe. Odd collection of cutlery and glasses but no plates - a bit weird. Parking is a game of tetris, there is no way 2 vehicles could fit in the undercover part as there are aircon base units in there so its first in best dressed. Plastic fold out table under the TV unit is a bit ordinary. We only stayed one night - certainly wouldnt do more than that unless things were modified. There is plenty of opportunity for improvements to make it more enjoyable - up to the owners on that one. Wouldnt call it a resort by any stretch.. Oh there is no washing machine / dryer facilities - there was at one stage by the looks but not now. The pool had a cover over it so its proably out of action as well. Cant comment on the food as we didnt eat there.

I think that the town has given up...pitty it looks like it was once fantastic.....hope there is better accommodation but they could fix the issues. Hard bed...weed the garden... Change the colour from black to earth colours and clean the pool...☺

Stayed here for one night after a 3 week camping trip as everything of ours was wet in the rain. We told them the earliest we could get there is 7pm as we were driving 12 hours that day. And they sent a message on details for the key drop/pickup box to collect our key and some info. Perfect little room. Bed was super stiff but we were sleeping on a foam mattress the past 3 weeks so it was better than that. Very nice and tidy room. And the tavern next door. The food was amazing

Very quiet and comfortable. Aircon and wifi worked well. I found the bed to be to my liking. It is firm.As others have reported it’s a bit strange that there’s only 1 of everything (cutlery, cup, bowl, 1 chair, 1 beside table, no bedside lights at all) when it’s a room for two people. The units share a common veranda but there’s only 1 table there with 2 chairs, when 4 people could be using the rooms. Needs a little bit of tlc around the motel i.e. the gate is broken, our railing was broken, fans are dirty.The reception staff were very friendly. 30 m to the pub for a meal which was nice.Parking is very tight as others have attested but if you have a medium sized car you can park out the front of the unit. If you have a larger vehicle perhaps call to find out which unit has the best car parking as some units have more car space.

Nice and simple. Supportive staff. The rooms got microwave Owen, decent toilet, good bed, TV with free to air channels. You can park your vehicle right next your room under the shade. Did see one or two restaurants nearby..however be sure you have something stored in your vehicle in case :)

Overpriced $199 first night and $189 for second. Very little room between the two beds and not much room between the end of the bed and the wall. Two straight back cheap uncomfortable chairs. No table. One steak knife 1knife and fork 1 dessert spoon and 1 teaspoon and no plates. Cheap 1 ply toilet paper and no face washer. Only room for 1 car between each unit so be early. No security as the electric entrance gate does not work .Gravel drive way with puddles etc etc. No where to sit to eat but a written threat of a $200 cleaning fee if you spill food on bed. We were travelling as a family of 5. They gave us a self contained one bedroom space behind the reception, not one of the new units in the marketing photos.The linen and towels were fantastic (hotel quality). The kitchen was good but cutlery and supplies were very old.The floor was filthy. I found a bucket and mop behind one of the newer units and mopped the floor twice, then it became bearable. For $199 /night, I expected that they clean the floor.
