The restaurant was understaffed and service was slow. After we returned to the counter with a warm glass of white wine requesting a chilled one, the owner of the restaurant came out, swearing at us and told us to leave and never come back. We did receive the garlic bread we ordered but the bread was stale and hardly any garlic on it. Even if we hadn’t been asked to leave we wouldn’t come back. We want to support local business but cannot recommend this restaurant.

Da Ricardos in Croydon is without a doubt one of the most disappointing restaurants I've ever experienced - and I've been to some pretty dire establishments over the years. When I dined here, I was quite frankly disgusted by the standard of the food, the service, and the general atmosphere of this so-called Italian gastro-pub."Let's start with the infamous veal

Do not recommend. Last time I ordered take away they forgot items. And the second time I tried to order they informed me they do not offer gluten free options, nor were willing to substitute gnocchi for normal pasta to make it gluten free. Pretty disappointing

I wish we could be more supportive and leave a better review, but we can only comment on what we experienced.We went for dinner last Thursday, wanting to support local businesses as we live down the road.The place wasn't busy.We were sat down by young staff. No drinks orders taken. No water bought to the table (till 20 min later when I ordered a drink).What turned out to be somewhat prophetic we noted the couple at a table next to the fish tank left more than 1/2 there meal and left.We ordered Bruschetta & Calamari for entrees.The Calamari was lovely. Well battered and crisp. If not very expensive (we don't mind paying)The Bruschetta was less enjoyable- but ok.We ordered 2 risottos. A chicken and mushroom & also a seafood.My chicken & mushroom tasted ok. But I had bits of Calamari through it. My wife's seafood - the muscles weren't cleaned properly & were full of grit and she had 2minute type noddles all through her dish.To then really make it worse (hers a lot worse than mine)- the rice was in clumps & when separated - was white - it had been steamed & a sauce added. That's not how a proper risotto is cooked. Seems cutting corners while charging full rate is acceptable?The young staff need more training. Not once did they approach any table to see if they could do anything. They congregated at the register on their phones. That's just no time invested in what the role requires.The wine I had was beautiful.The meal - sorry. We tried. We won't be back anytime soon.

Reasonable price but not very good in taste- Steak is bad- Lamb chop still ok- Kids meal not worth it- Do not order soup of the day, taste very bad and salty.- Fried calamari still ok
