I engaged Hookys to do some fiddly external trim work on my house. He was a delight to work with - showed up on time, did very high quality work and was helpful in the extreme on every request. Quote was entirely reasonable and work done ahead of time. Would definitely recommend and will use again. Great stuff!

The project was: 2 rooms and hallway straightening walls, build 2 feature walls, build a sunroof, 2 bulkheads, door architraves and some skirting board.Michael came up with ideas, made really solid and good looking framework and two neat feature walls.Its a 50s weatherboard, so tricky to deal with, nothing square, straight, or solid. But the parts Michael did are good now.We are kind of perfectionists and ask lots of questions, Michael would listen and has better answers than the usual she'll be right"

Michael has performed a number of difficult or fiddly jobs for us and we just thank our lucky stars that we found him. Nothing is too much (or too little) for him. Michael is extraordinarily talented and clearly loves a challenge. His solutions are pure genius, but it is his uncompromising work ethic which makes him a stand-out. People say I'm a little pedantic. I wanted a carpenter that I could work with to develop a solution to modify my carport and transform it into a garage . I saw Michael Hookys advertisement which focussed on quality . He came to site. We discussed a range of options tapping into Michael's experiences. When it came time to perform the work, I had an immediate need for his work to be done to slot into the bigger schedule. He came on Saturday and worked til late to finish the job . He has an amazing array of speciality equipment and a very good knowledge of how and where to use them effectively. His craftsmanship met my needs for a quality outcome . In fact he exceeded my lofty expectations. I have no hesitation in recommending him to relatives , friends and others . Well done Michael.

We had a situation where we were trying to get an oversized piece of antique furniture through an undersized doorway, anticipating that this would be a very complex and difficult job. Michael responded quickly to my initial call, quickly assessed the situation, immediately set to tackling it, applying his superb problem solving skills, innovation and craftsmanship, and in less than an hour the furniture was in place and problem solved! Michael was extremely personable and we would have no hesitation in recommending him to any job. Amazing!

Michael came recommended and so I engaged his services for a large project; two renovated bathrooms, a foyer extension and the construction of two large architecturally designed elevated roofed decks. We employed Michael to help renovate our house. Over the three month project he approached the build with absolute professionalism, a high level of expertise, and patience and commitment as though working on his own home. We developed a great rapport with Michael which is testament to his open, collaborative and conscientious approach to his work. As we wanted to remain onsite throughout the build, we were faced with waking to a construction site every day but the stress of living in such an environment was eased by the sight of Hooky’s smiling face and positive attitude each morning (often accompanied by a fresh brew of coffee he had picked up for us on his way to site!).Michael led the complete demolition and rebuild of our two bathrooms, laundry, pantry and kitchen (including a suspended ceiling with complex shadow lines). He also installed new skylights and new skirting boards and architraves throughout the house. All work was carried out to an exceptional standard, and Michael was more than happy for us to assist him with the work where we could. He was able to pre-empt any issues that arose throughout the build - as they always do working on an existing building - providing us with various options for how issues could be resolved. We were able to trust and rely on his expert advice as clients with minimal construction experience, and were always kept up to date with progress on parts of the construction that we weren’t able to work directly with him on.We would recommend Hooky’s Carpentry without hesitation to any prospective client.
