About Engage Tutoring

Engage Education

Engage Tutoring provides students with a personal tutor for weekly tuition throughout Year 11 & 12. Students receive specialised guidance and coaching from their private tutor to assist them achieve top scores throughout VCE – not just at exam time, but in all in-school essays and tests that make up the crucial SAC marks in the calculation of the ATAR.

This program was launched in January 2010, at which time it was described as “the best way for students to improve their marks throughout the year” by several key industry leaders. Having a personal tutor is not a new concept, with many students who have scored highly in previous years having had a tutor of their own to help them achieve such high marks. Engage Tutoring has made it easier and more economical than ever to have your own qualified tutor.

Engage Tutoring allows you to attend a weekly 60 minute session with your tutor to go over any questions or problems you have found over the week, as well as providing an opportunity for your tutor to explain concepts through a simple and easy to understand approach. This will assist you when studying for internal SACs as well as the all-important exams.

As all our tutors have recently completed VCE themselves, they are very familiar with the course content and the demands placed upon students throughout Year 12. They have all achieved scores in the top 5% of the state – with many of them attaining ‘Perfect’ study scores of 50 and ATARs over 99.0! This gives you access to the advice and content from students who know what is required to get A+ scores and how to best work towards achieving this.

Weekl y tutoring enables students to cover the course material comprehensively and review the critical theory components that are required aspects of the course. A significant portion of time is spent working through analytical style and highly weighted questions that are known to differentiate between B and A+ students.

Although the Engage tutors are all very high achieving VCE graduates that can share hints and tips to assist in reaching A+ scores, as the tuition is all personalised to the student, gains can be made on students scores wherever they are currently sitting in their class.

Many of the Engage Tutoring sessions are one-on-one with the student receiving personal, uninterrupted support and advice from the tutor. In some cases the personal tuition will involve up to two students working with the tutor to reach their optimal academic performance. This gives students the opportunity to study with a friend and also encourages greater discussion and in-depth analysis of what is being covered. This is particularly beneficial in the English and humanities subjects where evaluation is an important feature of the course and being able to debate and see two sides of a topic can provide a powerful chance to boost your marks.

Term Dates

Semester 1 Engage Tutoring 2012 is a 14 week intensive personal tutoring course starting Monday 27 February and going through until the week beginning 4 June 2012.
