Australia Post - Mentone Post Shop

Visited this post office this morning to organise my sons passport. The woman behind the counter was terrible. The worst possible customer service skills I have experienced in a long time. She was officious and rude. I found her attitude to be appalling and I will never go back to that post office again. In this day and age when there are so many people who would love a job in a cushy warm post office, treating customers like idiots is simply not acceptable. Shame on you Mentone P.O.

The people here are so rude for no reason. Don't expect any sort of customer service.

Friendly, quick and competent staff. A real post office (not a LPO) which can provide additional services. Can get busy and parking can be a bit complicated around school times. The inside is a bit dated/‘heritage’ and the plaque states it was opened in 1971! Would certainly go again for counter service.

Lived in Mentone the last three years and used this outlet regularly, each time extremely impressed with the helpful, friendly and personable service by the ladies regularly at the counter. What a refreshing change compared to many other customer service employees in the wider community these days!

It’s interesting to read the reviews here, as I was compelled to review a POST OFFICE of all things after the lovely experience I had today with Vicki at the Mentone Australia Post. She had such a good customer manner, which I’m not used to at all with post offices. Her friendliness and customer service really improved my day.

I have parcels delivered to 'parcel locker' because I'm unable to pickup during business hours. 80% of the time those 'parcel locker' parcels get changed to 'parcel collect' midway during transit and I have to arrange/take time off to go to the post office. I've asked why and have been given lies like, 'it wouldn't fit', 'parcel locker has broken down'. So many times they stuff up and deliver it wrong. What's the point of offering this service if it doesn't work? When I lived in a different suburb this never happened.

I just visited this branch as a new local.I was treated really poorly by one of the oldLady staff, Julie, from the beginning, who was hostile and frustrated towards me soon after she saw me (Asian looking).I wonder whether it was racism.Even my partner, who is non-Asian, was shocked by this staff’s inappropriate and unacceptable manner.When I came back to the branch to raise this issue, even other staff member’s manner was cold and inattentive to my complaints.I don’t think any human being should be treated this way and staff here did breach the basic right of human beings.I hope this issue can be dealt properly by the team or the post office to prevent the same incidence for other people.

Went there to get passport photos done. The lady there was awful and rude, kept complaining the posture was wrong, but did not tell me what the right way is. Eventually, I gave up without any photos taken. Will never go there again.

Went to get my passport renewed and was told that their camera was broken. I said I'd try Southland and was told their camera was broken too.So I asked where else I could go and was told the nearest Australia Post branch with a working camera was Chelsea! Then I was told I could go to the Pharmacy in Charman Rd Cheltenham and get my pics done and bring the application back along with the photos.Went to Cheltenham, got the pics and they told me that I could submit the passport app at Cheltenham PO. Went there and then found that they had a working camera, could take the pic and submit the application.I couldn't believe my ears! Then later found out that Chelt was a licenced PO (ie not a Corporate OzPost PO) and Chelsea was also a Corporate PO.Poor advice, Mentone PO!
