Absolutely incredible quality! I have not had Greek food this good in years!!Calamari and octopus was incredibly fresh.Staff were very friendly and accommodating for all needs. Venue was very clean too. We went for a birthday party and could not have had a better experience. We went with the set menu and we're not able to finish it but the best part was, we had it packed and could take it home.Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

We love Greek food and don’t get to eat it often enough. This visit was for a birthday dinner with friends so were delighted they chose That Greek Tavern. We trusted them to choose our dishes so we picked the set menu. What followed was a dip and meat fiesta. We went home full and happy and would happily return in the future.

Years ago, this place used to be what was then, my favourite Greek restaurant in Melbourne, called Dips. Now it's replaced with That Greek Tavern, and I thought I'd give it a try and see what it's like there now as a whole new place. The aesthetics are the same for the most part, though freshened up a lot, and nice and clean. It's inviting and the staff greet you warmly and take you to your table promptly. The menu is fairly extensive for entrees, with the mains a little bit more limited. A lot of meat platters and the usual fare. Prices seem a bit steep, but when you see the food come out, you know you're getting value.I had the Whitebait for my entree and they were really good. There are heaps, so you could easily share them. I shared the chicken platter for main, and I have never, ever had chicken so succulent before. It was sooooo good, that there was not a shred caught between my teeth anywhere (I had no other use for my straw like I usually do elsewhere, lol). It was so moist and tender and cooked perfectly in a beautiful marinade. The others had lamb and said it was perfect and not in the least fatty. We shared a bowl of chips for the table (four of us) and it was ample. The service was friendly, and the food came out fast. The music gave the night a nice atmosphere and yes, there's value for money. Would I come back again and recommend it to people? You bet. It'd be good for mid size groups of people or even for parties of two-four. Parking is easy and if you love Greek food, I'm sure you'll love it here too!

I ate at this restaurant last night for the first time and was not disappointed. All staff were super friendly, service very wish food plentiful and all so fresh. The prawns were delicious and the lamb cooked on the spit over charcoal was some of the best Greek lamb I've had.Like all restaurants these days, food well over priced. A dip plus pita = $14 = extortion! The large combo meat platter was very nice, but was it worth $60? Probably not.The galaktoboureko was a large serve and very nice. Two diners with one alcoholic drink each = $170.Will return.

My partner and I came to this restaurant on our first actual Dinner date and it was perfect. Nice calm cozy vibes and the waitress who may have been the owner recommended a good way to share food and it worked out perfectly. Food was delicious. We gonna head back for sure!!

How much would you expect to pay for the plate of food I've included on this review? A small plate mind you, for 1 person. $25? You wish! Try $40! That's right! $40 for abit of meat, pita bread, salad and some dip. Upon looking at the menu, I was shocked to see a small plate of open mixed meat gryo was $40 and I think large was $60. Crazy prices! I've had plenty of greek food at restaurants such as Jim's Tavern, Stalactites, Pita wrap it and no way their open souvlakis are this expensive! This is like fine dining prices! Mind you the food is good but standard like the other Greek restaurants I've been to. Nothing extraordinary or spectacular. A friend suggested to try out the restaurant. Even she said it was over priced and we were overcharged for something that's just standard and simply not worth it. When I got home I told my partner and he too was in shock how much I paid. He even shared it with a few friends who work in the hospitality industry and they too said it was ridiculous. Now I know the reason why they don't advertise their menu on their website!

A great local tavern for authentic Greek food. The dips are melt in your mouth and so is the pita bread. We always have the calamari, octopus, saganaki and white bait. Delicious! The beetroot and Lima bean salad is great too! Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed their food and service was exceptional. Had a very generous portion of whitebait and Octopus to start with and thoroughly enjoyed both. The Lamb on the meat platter was delicious.
