I ordered the Down-under ll 80 litre fridge freezer on line, 9 days later I rang to find out why it hasn’t been shipped, was told out of stock, will make this week and send next week, 7 days later got an email that it won’t be made till March because of poor quality standards with components, this was the only fridge that would fit in my ute because of the roller shutter lid, the fridge being low profile( 420 mm high) I wanted this for a camping trip, no such luck, the communication is a bit P- - $ poor fellas, thanks for the refund, I’ll work something else out, and it won’t be Evakool.

Bought an Evakool Infiniti 47 litre ice box. This was to use in our part time camper. The ice box is advertised as being able to keep ice for 15 days*.The * requiring optimum conditions to achieve 15 days.We didn't need it to last 15 days but 3-4 days would have been ok.We froze soft drink bottles full of tap water, leaving them in the freezer for a week so they were frozen rock solid. We had 3 x 1.25 litre bottles and 1 x 1 litre bottle frozen. We loaded the ice box with our frozen bottles plus 12 cans of beer and placed the ice box outside in the shade to replicate camping conditions. The ice was completely gone after about 35 hours. We only opened the ice chest just the once during the test at the 35 hour mark. Now I realize that marketing speak for * optimum conditions must mean being used in Antarctic conditions and only opened on day 15 to achieve 15 days of ice retention, so that was why I was aiming for only 3-4 days, well short of the lofty advertising claims. To have lost all ice before 48 hours is a catastrophic fail for a premium priced ice box. We could have achieved the same results with a cheap and cheerful esky from Target or KMart.I contacted the retailer Outback Adventures but they do not respond. Now that's what I call expectation management!Save your money folks. You could have colder beer after 48 hours just by thinking cool, rather than use an Evakool Infinity Ice Box.Just sayin'Edit 22/02/2023I followed the advice in Evakool's response and provided a detailed email on Feb 17th.No answer has been their firm reply.Kind of reinforces my experience.

Bought a downunder series II fridge got home and turned it onFridge turned on fine no error codes, but it dosent cool down at all. Have had it running now for 12 hours on 240v and the fridge fans are running but the internal temp is the sam as the ambient temperature. Thinking it has a problem with the compressor and I am now having to undertake a warranty claim. U would think that after spending 1400 that they will have some sort of quality control to make sure there gear works before it leaves the factory. Now I just spent 1400 to fill out a warranty claim. Great way to spend my weekend.

Not happy!Ordered a 65L downunder 2Fridge gets deliver and im firstly happy with the look and fit in my car.Plug into car and try to turn on, nothing!Checked car and its fine, look into vent and theres a wire fallen off the terminal and crimp is poor….Upon u screwing it i found a few stripped screws in casing.Signed by the builder, very very average workmanship.Think twice about the big spend.

I bought my 60 litre Evakool portable fridge/freezer at least 10 years ago and it is still working like new. I had a small problem with the fuse holder and I asked Evakool where I could buy a replacement. They sent me a circuit breaker at no charge. It has been in the back of 2 Landcruisers over this time and bounced around all over the countryside on off road trips. I couldn't recommend them more. Get one! You won't regret it.

Bit of a different review after almost 5 years. Had these 2 fridges running in my GU patrol for the last 5 years and car has been sold recently and both fridges went with. Time for a new set up for the new car and looking forward to getting another Evakool again as both these fridges had been working flawlessly for the whole time. been through Simpson few times, Cape York and traveled all around QLD never had any issue other than the draw fridge blowing the fuse once in a really hot summer day. Great products they been and hope the quality is still up there like they used to be.
